Cool Retro WBLI LP on eBay

I showed this to one of the original BLI guys who remembered it well.

Chuck Mackin who is now evenings/weekends on WLNG, was Jerry MacRae in the glory days of 106.1. Here's the lineup from left to right.

Brian Quinn (News), Jeff Thomas, Jerry MacRae, Bennett Field, The Original Stony Brook, Barry Neal, Jeff Thomas (again), Bennett Field (again)

The small pictures to the right:

Jerry MacRae (again), Jeff Thomas (again) and The Real Stony Brook (again).

Most are, of course, air names (and some pretty creative ones at that). I won't put their real names on here unless they want to contribute (several are still around).

Bob

Thanks Bob & Chuck for the info. Chuck was Jerry MacRae? Never knew that.

IIRC all of the air talent had air-de-plumes when WBLI 1st went on the air because most of the jocks were either holdovers from WPAC or WGLI and Beck-Ross didn't want them using thier real names. So most of the air talent chose names reflecting long island locales ie Stony Brook, Davis Park, Bennett Field. There was also a Captain Jack Bli.Gee I wonder why there was no Cherry Grove or Glen Head?
