Coop On B-Ez?

Was that our resident board member Bob Cooper sitting in with Carly Rush on 92.9 / KBEZ's morning show Monday?

Soundin' good, man! Just like riding a bicycle... is there a format you DON'T sound great on? :)

(Good to hear you back on the radio; I hope it develops into something more for you! KILLER posts...)

Thanks for the good words, Mr. Aire! Joined KBEZ last summer doing weekends and daytime fill in...really lucky to be able to work with Carly...done it a number of times...real pro. Understands the audience and wants it RIGHT and GOOD. Makes us compatible. Also tracking the weekday overnite show now. Renda gang really good people.

Re/ the formatic thing...most all of us can do most any format easily. The whole thing is mindset. If we believe we're not rock jocks, country jocks, AC jocks...but rather personalities who happen to play a certain type of music at a station...we get a bigger, more open minded view.

So, I guess that means KBEZ is running Maestro now? I remember hearing they fought adding a system for years. It seems like they were still running CD's as recently as five years ago.

While I've heard a mixed bag about Renda corporate, I've heard only good things about Dave Dallow, Charlene Lewis, Steve Smith and Carly Rush. It seems like it would be a really good working environment.

I've worked for Renda and other companies who owned KBEZ down through the years and I can tell you from personal experience, they are all great people. Coop's right. We're professional performing artists. Give me a mic and a format and I'll get you something out of it. That's a loose variation of a quote from John Lennon about being an artist and getting something out of a tuba. I don't care what the format is....within reason....but a jock's gotta make a living. I would have to say that KBEZ is one of a handful of stations I would ever consider doing part time work on or even voice tracking for.

If they were smart, they would put Coop on afternoons. He iwould be a major upgrade. Good name recognition too.

I think it would be good to hear both Bobs on EZ! Put Coop in afternoons and place O'Shea anywhere in the line up and watch them shine. Talk about some radio gold!

I think I heard Cooper doing the overnights on EZ. Heard another guy on the weekend named Dave. Is he new too?
