Saw Chet interviewed on PBS over the weekend and he was himself... cheesy, candid, hilarious, engaging, sad, bitter, passionate and knowledgeable. We ALL know there isn’t a Chicago sports talk host worthy of being mentioned on this board and the ratings reflect that. What I like about Chet is that you could tell he prepped his show. National stories broke on C.O.S. almost weekly. Chet is a showman, he is ORIGINAL, he understands the entertainment value of radio and that’s what it takes to develop an audience. What he did not do is sit back and take calls for hours at a time as if he were taking a survey. As a listener, I don’t need to hear what some clown in Stickney believes the Cubs front office needs to do. WFAN garners huge 12 plus ratings in NY. There is a reason for that. They have engaging talk hosts who have depth and are insightful.

Actually, WFAN does not garner huge 12+ ratings in NY. They are seldom above #15 in the ranking, in fact.
WFAN does very well among 25-44 Men, 35-44 men and 35-64 men, where they are #4, #"4 and #2 overall. It is a very tightly targeted adult male station, and that is why it does very well.
But it is not even a 12+ player.
