I think they've gone as they can with COPS. In fact, THE ONLY reason why it's still on the air is because it compliments America's Most Wanted, which follows COPS (And even then, everything is in reruns). If it weren't for AMW, COPS would've been taken off the schedule YEARS ago.

Then, when it will end by next decade on the series finale of COPS?
 
I doubt it will get canceled. The production costs are next to nothing for this show. Fox is not going to dump a bunch of money in to a new Saturday night program. The only other thing that could go there would be repeats of the biggest shows during the week. I think the ratings would still be better with COPS than a repeat of House or Bones on a Saturday night.
 
Then, next year will be... 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF COPS!!! Guapo.

You remember back in '96 the backlash Fox got when they cancelled both Cops and America's Most Wanted? I'm sure Fox doesn't want that again, and besides, these two shows are prestigious in that they're the two longest-running shows in the history of the network...each of them even predating The Simpsons (AMW by a year and half; Cops by nine months).

Fox could always have special episodes of Cops where they follow the Cops of Baghdad and Kabul.
