I wonder what David Helton thinks of it? ???

Ain't anything sacred?

I emailed David about "The Hawk". He's aware of it...because he drew it.

Here's part of David's response...

hello chuck...

thanks for the sharp eye and noticing that "THE HAWK" looks strangely like that other well known bird-of-prey in cleveland. there's a reason for that. i designed it for them. the p.d. there knows me from way back and when he became a partner of that ownership, he contacted me to upgrade their mascot. i only do a summer t-shirt promotion for them. they don't use the mascot other than their logo. they sell alot of the summer shirts and that's all.

So...to answer my question, he must like it.

And to answer YEKIMI's response, he probably didn't have to.

YEKIMI might buy one of the shirts, unless the only place to buy them is Marc's 8)

It's the Buzzard's lower paid, younger 3rd cousin who is not allowed to show personality in his poses, has to change costumes for 6 other stations & be paid for only one, & is threatened with other Hawks circling his lifeless career if he makes more than 19 grand a year.

Oh no, I would never wear a WMMS shirt/sweatshirt of any type. I wasn't "into" WMMS when I was a teenager or young adult. Although, I wouldn't mind having one now so I could sell it for a fortune on Ebay! And here I thought there was going to be drama with lawsuits flying and feelings hurt....so instead it's "Nothing to see here, move along!"

And besides, if you're calling your station "The Hawk" why would you want a buzzard as a mascot? I think people in NJ are smart enough to tell the difference between the two

hahaha...don't be too sure! ;)

Oh, I'm sure. Everytime I've driven through NJ it smells like something has died and the stench starts near the state border and lasts until you leave the state. So I'm sure over the years they been able to tell those aren't parakeets [or any other bird] circling overhead! ;D

LOL...I like when the wind blows just right and they "share" it with us here in the city. It's our garbage, so I guess it's only fair... :D
