Cornelius Presets for Omnia One users

Hello, Omnia.One users!

I have been busy working on new processing projects, but in between them all, I have been messing with the Omnia. One, and I have created a series of "CGSmooth" presets for that unit.

You can find the files at my site:
http://www.cgould.com/items/9

I have re-built the site, and I'm still uploading items. All should be there by this weekend. (Omnia6 "CGSmooth" presets are not up there at the moment, but will be in a day or so)

Enjoy!

Thanks for those. We're running the ONE on an Oldies station with the Rock setting.
Love the sound, but...
Some songs are slow to get up to speed out of a jingle., despite meticulous levels.
This happens with or without a Compellor in line.

Do we speed up the release?
AGC? Multiband? Limiters?

You can do this by adjusting the release times on the AGC's, but you may want to give some of the presets a try first, as they take advantage of a number of adjustments that are not part of the front panel controls. Those adjustments definitely give the processor a faster yet smooth response in that regard.

You can e-mail me with your observations, and I can help you fine tune the preset(s), or even create one that can manage the program dynamics to your liking.

HI Cornelius -

Thanks for taking the time to share the presets.. I tried to download them but keep getting a "file not found" error when attempting to download them.

Thanks again for everything!!

You're welcome!

Give it a try now...just noticed that some of the files were referencing the development server! OOPS

I would love to see some of these for the O3Turbo.

One day, I'll make my way to the unit. I've had one for a while, and have been meaning to get inside to play with...but have been busy designing stuff!

I have been getting a LOT of questions and requests from folks regarding the possibility of providing "CGSmooth" versions for the One, so I've been setting aside a few moments here and there for the past few weeks to get to know the unit, and start tinkering around with it.

These are my "version 1.0" presets, so I'm definitely interested in feedback on any further tweaks that interested Omnia. One users would like to see in these. Just e-mail me directly at [email protected] with your feedback. These presets are my way of having a bit of fun during my spare time, and getting to learn more about what our users are looking for in current and future Omnia processors.

This Omnia One box is nothing short of amazing!! I'm running the Rock preset unchanged - it sounds as good as any of the 6's or 8500's in Atlanta- and plays well on a variety of different types of music/voices - even classical. Best $2400 I ever spent!!
Telos-Omnia seems to have the advantage, technology wise, in a multitude of areas. I never thought I'd be saying Omnia has a better box than Optimod.....but with price a consideration - I'm saying it now. My thanks to Steve Church and Frank Foti for all the excellent products which make radio better(and my job easier!)
Cornelius - how is your "smooth" preset different from "rock?" (What parameters change?)

Corny's smooth presets for the Omnia 6 seem to rely on the AGC sections to do most of the work. I'm sure the one is similar. Cornelius- Have the Omnia 6 presets changed on the new website? Mine are several months old. Everyone loves your presets!!!!!!

Thanks!! Glad everyone is loving the sound of the presets! ;D

Yes...fm-engineer is correct. The use of the AGC's more than limiters is one aspect. The other(s) involve internal changes to the AGC algorithms themselves, which allows me to do that trick without things falling apart!

The OmniaOne presets are very similar in concept, but being that the processing structure is *very* different from the Omnia.6, I had to do a
quite few things differently. The "smooth" series of presets are going to be noticeably different than the factory presets. Mark Manolio (who is one of the creators of the "cosmic" preset), Ted Alexander and I have been poking around quite a bit in the Omnia One, and coming up with lots of neat new sounds. These presets are built on top of the latest work from Mark and Ted. I took them, and added my personal sound signature to the mix.

I have not updated the Omnia6 presets **yet**. I have a few thoughts that came to mind to enhance them even more over the past few weeks, so I'll be sitting down to test these ideas soon... 8)

We're running the CGSmoothRock preset and it is fantastic!! That preset is very transparent and the HF is crystal clear. The only thing I changed (increased by .5) was the drive to the WB AGC.

On some of the factory presets, I've noticed what seems to be slow release times in the AGC. For example in Queen's "We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions" when "We Are The Champions" fades in it takes a while for it to "ramp up". Just an observation. Would it be beneficial to have a user adjustable "make up gain" control in the AGC?

The Cosmic preset is very consistent and I'd love to see different variations of this preset.

Cornelius - Great job with your presets!

Telos/Omnia - Great job with this box!

I will speak for us all. Thank you for the smooth series of presets! Can't wait to try the new Omnia 6 ideas you may have. It is going to be hard to beat what you already have. ;)
