correcting a fabrication

This post is to correct an incredible fabrication in the thread titled "MSNBC Permanently Cancels Don Imus" [EDIT]

"Rev Jackson and his Operation P.U.S.H. years back gave the impoverished Children in his neighborhood a free breakfast and a coloring Book depicting the Police as "PIGS" chasing children, etc, and even had drawings of kids with guns shooting at them."

I will now correct the above statement and anyone who doubts my version can easily check it out in a web search.

Operation PUSH Never gave any kids coloring books depicting the police as pigs. There was however in the 1960's something called the BLACK PANTHER COLORING BOOK, which was not a production of the Black Panthers but rather the FBI. It was of course designed to appear as if it had been created by the Panthers. The books contained inflammatory pictures, some of which featured young black kids shooting pigs dressed as policemen. From a later report by the late Senator Frank Chuch's commitee which investigated all this in the 70's:

"One of the bureau's prime targets was the Black Panther Party's free "Breakfast for Children" program, which FBI headquarters feared might be a potentially successful effort by the Panthers to teach children to hate police and to spread "anti-white propaganda". In an admitted attempt "to impede their contributions to the Panther Breakfast Program", the FBI sent anonymous letters and copies of an inflammatory Black Panther Coloring Book for children to contributors, including Safeway Stores, Mayfair Markets, and the Jack-in-the Box corporation.

On April 8, 1976 in Executive Testimony a former member of the Panther Central Steering Committee stated that when the coloring book came to the attention of the Panther's national leadership, Bobby Seale (Panther chair) ordered it destroyed because the book 'did not correctly reflect the ideology of the Black Panther Party."

So there it is kids--the FBI, without any involvement from Jesse Jackson, stirring up anti-white violence in the Chicago ghetto at taxpayer expense. Oh, and also trying to deprive poor black kids of a chance to have breakfast.

"defending someone who called NY Hymietown?"

I proudly defend him when he is so viciously and inaccurately attacked. So should you, if you have any regard for the truth.

I did a search on some of the information you've quoted, Talkjim. Many of those sites seem to lean to the left. I'm not sure that I am ready to believe something somebody has said, just because it is on the web. There is a lot of distortions on both the right and the left. There are extremes on both.

So don't believe the Web. Go the library--do a search under "Church Committee" or perhaps under "Black Panthers" and you'll find everything you want to know. I acted responsibly. I corrected a boldface lie by an idiot. My work is done.

Is that where you got your information? Did you get it from the library? If so, please enlighten the rest of us by suggesting some of the books in which you did your indepth research. We would all benefit from your knowledge.

Check out an official government document (hope that's not too biased for you) called "Intelligence Activities and the Rights of Americans" Book 2, Final Report of the Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with respect to Intelligence Activities, United States Senate. This committee was popularly known as the "Church Committee", after the late Senator Frank Church of Idaho.

It's not an exaggeration to say that the FBI in Chicago in the 60's and 70's under J. Edgar Hoover was its own Mafia.

Happy Hunting.
