Cost cutting ideas for Emmis/Hot 97

Lets face it, as long we have bankers and bean counters running corperations (no matter what industry), businesses will always have the win at any cost mentality. What these people fail to realize is that by continually downsizing, they are reducing the power of people to actually afford the product they are selling. So they are effectively (in the long term) sowing seeds for their ultimate demise...

One phrase comes up here on this "Penny Wise Dollar foolish"

Angie and Flex ARE Hot97! There are people that you just don't replace due to a Budget. These two are without Doubt in that group.

Angie & Flex are doing a lot for Hot 97. The station is ranked #13 in the market.

C'mon people...wake up!! As sad as it is for people to lose their jobs, I gotta tell you, people listening to Hot 97 are listening to the music 1st. If Angie and Flex were to disappear, there might be a drop from die hard fans, but they'll be back. where else are they gonna go?

Wow... I don't live anywhere near New York and even I know that Flex and Angie ARE Hot 97. JerseyDude obviously either has no clue about radio, has something personal against the two jocks or he's buddies with the other two DJs he's plugging (or maybe even one of them ??).

And to answer a question of "where would they (hardcore fans of Angie and Flex) go (for hip-hop)": Oh, let's see... iPods, XM/Sirius, streaming, back to burning CDs... there are plenty of places. Radio has more competition than some people realize. Yes, these are legit competitors for radio. I should know: I got XM almost a year ago and I rarely listen to "real" radio now. I'm sure I'm far from being the only one.
