DINOCOSTA RETURNS TO DENVER

Someone in Rocky Mountain Empire shows enough brains to make this a reality

Denver-

Controversial sports talk radio host Dino Costa has announced that he is returning to Denver, Colorado with a brand new radio endeavor.

Costa was last in the Mile High City back in 2003 with ESPN Radio, and was clearly on his way toward re-defining the sports radio landscape in Colorado's largest city...however his previous employer was not broad minded enough to understand the value and significance of "Dino Radio".

The effort to keep this good man down and the process to keep Costa out of Denver for good, while although well conceived and highly orchestrated...ultimately failed in its objective.

Costa is returning to Denver with the ever expanding RADIO COLORADO NETWORK network of stations. The program's flagship home will be the thirty thousand watt station located at 1060-AM KRCN, Denver, Boulder, Ft. Collins, CO., Cheyenne, WY

In addition The DINOCOSTA Show will also be heard over the following radio stations:

>610 AM KVLE in Vail, Aspen, Eagle, Colorado
>1580 AM KWYD in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Colorado
>1450 AM KSKE in Buena Vista, Leadville, Salida, Colorado

Since leaving Denver in 2003 Costa has been in Jacksonville, Florida the last two years with AM-970 "The Winner". Costa sounds as though he intends to pick up where he left off with his first go-round in Denver.

DINO SAID:

"For crying out loud has this process of my return to the state of Colorado taken long enough? I've plotted my return for the last two years and viewed the shifting winds of the sports radio landscape in this city with utter amazement. The lack of logical programming decisions by those in decision making capacities has left Denver as this country's most under-served sports radio market by far.

This city, this region, this wonderful state of Colorado...where the bizarre seems to happen all the time, deserves so much more than what is currently being dished out on the sports radio airwaves.

Currently sports radio in Denver is literally dead. Among my objectives in coming back to this tremendous place is to save sports radio in Denver...from itself."

Costa who is 42 years of age and who has been fired more times than a Marine M-16 Rifle, primarily because he has had to endure a litany of narrow minded persons in management positions...will begin his latest Denver sojourn on Monday morning July 18th when he signs on the air at 11 AM.

The Dino Costa Show will air weekdays on The Radio Colorado Network from 11-1 PM and will be Denver's only locally executed sports radio program on the air at that time.

DINO SAID:

"This will be the capstone to my career without question", said Costa. "To the best of my knowledge in the two years since I've been gone from Denver, Pierre Lacroix hasn't thrown a single person out of the Pepsi Center press box."

Bringing Costa back to Denver wasn't without its speed bumps. Costa had an opportunity to go to a market in the Southeast that will remain anonymous for the time being.

DINO SPOKE ABOUT THIS:

"Atlanta had many advantages for me and my family, but in the end it was either return to Denver and complete much unfinished business here, or face the wrath of station Senior VP Ron Nickell. I feel really good about going to work for and with Ron Nickell because I believe I have actually met someone in this hideous industry even more mis-understood than I am", said Dino."

Nickell, who's background includes over 30 years in every aspect of the business, including having been President at one time of NKR Productions, a Los Angeles based TV Radio production company CO-Owned by Nickell and Entertainer Kenny Rogers, responsible for creating the "Live by Satellite" Concert format, with Stereo Sound fed in each market by a local FM Rock or Country station, said that putting Costa back on the Radio in Denver and in the 77% of Colorado areas served by the Radio Colorado Network was a "No Brainer Decision."

Nickell who was also responsible for moving the well known "Business for Breakfast Show" with T.J. Maxwell, and Scott Cortelyou, to the Radio Colorado Network, said that the generally lethargic programming in Denver is; "close to an evening Lullaby that puts most listeners to sleep. I'm sure that 11am to 1pm will wake sports listeners up similar to a Tsunami rolling through the Rockies...Dino is anything but Subtle."

Costa further elaborated his thoughts on Ron Nickell; "Ron showed me right away that he has more brains than most in this industry simply because of the way he pursued me and in the fact that he was bound and determined to make the Dino Costa Show in Colorado a reality once again. The Radio Colorado Network is on the verge of some tremendous new things right now, and to be caught up in the momentum of what we're aiming to do over the next several years is as invigorating as it gets. In my opinion Ron Nickell gets Colorado radio executive of the year based upon his brilliant decision to bring me to his stable of stations here in Colorado."

The Dino Costa Show has previously been aired in the cities of Jacksonville, Wheeling, and Miami. In addition Costa has served as a sports anchor for 1010 WINS in NY City, and as an update anchor with Fox Sports radio in Los Angeles. Dino has also worked several years doing minor league baseball, riding buses, and eating way too much fast food.

Good grief. "Broad minded?" Does that mean "mindful of broads," or what? I've been in the business a long time and this is the worst excuse for a Press Release I've ever read. Take a writing class or something, will ya? And you claim to be in the communication business?

I think you miss the point of this thing Clark. The entire text is a half serious and half comedy production. I would doubt very much this was an "official" release if you know what I mean. I just wish that Atlanta was the destination and not Denver. Underserved sports radio? Yeah, Atlanta comes to the top of my mind immediately!

I wish we would all stop setting our standards so low. Good writing is even more important in comedy, than in the "serious" stuff. The only "comic" parts of that release are the unintentional ones. Lame. (IMHO)

Well there is no doubt or question who wrote that thing...if its long...I mean really long...Mr. Costa wrote it. Brevity is not in his game. I have never heard Mr. Costa..but it is probable I will be out in Colorado in mid-August (my sister is getting married again). So I am going to make sure I check out Mr. Costa and see what he is about on the air. Maybe I can learn something and end my almost year run on the beach...

How did WGST get suckered into trying out so many cruddy hosts like this one?

Plotted his return?

How can Dino Costa say he "plotted my return for the past two years" when he's been auditioning all over the country, including Atlanta?

Never in my life have I seen so much written about a host with so little.
