Could a SuperSoft AC Work in Orlando

I'm just wondering if Orlando has room for a SuperSoft AC, similar to WDUV Tampa.

No Dance or Hard rock, like Magic 107.7. Few Instrumentals (only ones should be smooth jazz).

What do you think?

The median age of the Orlando market is pretty young (and Tampa is at the opposite end of the spectrum). Plus the Orlando market is 40% Hispanic and African-American, and these listeners are not generally interested in Soft AC formats.

Not a good fit for O-Town.

Sadly no, the reason, billing. Although WDUV seems to win in the overall ratings each book, and they have almost no overhead (it's an automated jukebox except AM drive) their billing is allot less then most other stations.

With all due respect, WMMO IS a soft AC. I haven't heard a decent rocker from that station in years. Supertramp, James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, really???????

Same tired, slow rock songs. So the answer to your question is an emphatic..........YES!!!!!!!

We have a Supersoft AC in Orlando, take your pick MMslow or Magic............

How did 94.1 from Lakeland rate in Orlando when it was easy listening? Wait - they aren't easy listening any more. I guess that answers the question.

WMMO is NOT a supersoft AC. Last time I Checked, supersofts do not play "Dream On", Huey Lewis, and INXS. It's a Rock AC.

WMGF is also not a supersoft AC. It plays Lady Gaga, P!NK, and 80s and 70s dance hits. It could count as the softest mainstream AC in Clear Channel's control, however.

The only thing I've heard during AM Drive is weather. Do they have news or traffic ?

Yeah, but only when Dick Ring is on.
When is he on?
WDUV 105.5 is live 20 hours per week (out of 168 hours per week); Dick Ring is on 6am - 10 am Mon- Friday.

I seldom listen, I think the format is boring( way too much repetition of the same songs ) , but the times I've have listened between 6 - 10 AM, I have heard traffic and weather and not a newscast per se, but some headlines from time to time.

drt,
st. pete
