Could CBS' Charlotte Cluster Be Sold?

I have done some reading on KFI. I can't imagine anyone wanting to sell that station. Awesome coverage before the plane hit the tower that is, and a legond in the market. We're talking about a really big shoe (sorry).

CBS might sell all or some of the Charlotte stations if they can get a really good price for them. I never expected Lincoln Financial to sell the radio stations here and hold on to the other markets. They claimed they couldn't get enough for them right now.

Greater Media might want to pick up an FM or two to go with what they already have here in Charlotte. Imagine WSOC-FM and WBT owned by the same company! Old timers would never be able to get used to that!

CBS has a tendency to focus on only the largest markets - and profitability doesn't always matter. A previous post indicates their MO is to sell markets, not stations.

Could this be another case of the big investors getting bored with radio? Consider the selling prices of late, the tougher financing, the increased competition, etc.

Could Curtis be in the picture? Charlotte would make a nice addition to their string of NC stations.

I am sure that if the cluster were ever up for sale, Curtis would love to gethis hands on it and I am sure that he would pay whatever they were asking for it as well.
