Could Free FM be coming to Sacramento??

My guess is it was started by someguy in roseville who has an insatiable love for the kidd chris show, and is trying to strum up interest by photoshopping a FreeFM logo for sacramento. Thus by a sliver of a sliver of a chance FreeFm hiring on Kidd Chris to syndicate to this great flood land. The days when chris cracked a mic in sacramento are over........as is KXOA. Free FM is a terrible format that doesn't have a chance in sac. Although I would love to see him get pummeled by the Rob Arnie and Dawn show it just isn't in the cards. He is in Philly now, and thats great for him, in fact I hope he is doing awesome

Somebody has created a FreeFM Sacramento Myspace page encouraging people to "join the revolution" and convince a Sacramento station to flip to a FreeFM format.

You can check out the profile here: http://www.myspace.com/kdubradio

Now I look forward to hearing how KiddChris would dominate sac and R.A.D, so go ahead, keep spitting the same tired argument....you know you want to. And you know your going to

haha....no I did not create the FreeFM Sacramento myspace profile...the person added me to their profile...if you notice - it's a FreeFM page, not a Kidd Chris page dummy...anything can happen...radio is gonna take a BIG hit when XM and Sirius merge...there's too many other outlets for people to turn for music (ipods, cd's, satellite radio, etc)...talk radio is fresh, interactive and something that separates terrestrial radio from other entertainment outlets...do we really need 2 or more of the same formats in this market?? and just because FM talk failed once doesn't mean it can't be rebranded and run by a better programmer...look at the Jack format (replaced BOB 92.1)...some people like country, rock, rap...i like talk radio that is creative and entertains me...SF and NY both had FM Talkers that failed then came back...so who knows?? get off my back

I know its a free fm page, and yet the kidd chris show is friend number 2, and I deducted from your other posts that it would be the kind of thing you would do in your precious free time.
As for radio taking a hit when the satelites combine? They won't, and you want to know why...because as long as there is an audience of 100 people terrestrial radio will fight for those listeners and advertisers(the backbone of radio) will buy spots.

do we need 2 stations for the same format...yes. Competition brings out the best in everybody, unless you do retarded stunts like a certain morning show mishap. Stations get lazy and stale when they aren't competing. KNCI had to actually start programming when the wolf came. Khtk is going to have to compete against espn and Byron Kennedy wouldn't have it any other way than going 12 rounds with the bomb.

next Jack replaced howard not bob

I looked at the free fm sacto page......they have the phone numbers listed for all the staions in the market including pd's and gm's. What is someone going to accomplish by calling Bryan Jackson and telling him to switch to free fm? Here allow me to show you that phone call.

" Hi this is Joe bob Sacto and I wanted to Tell you, Bryan jackson, you should change to Free FM. What do you think of that?.....Well Joe Bob Sacto.......no, and go F yourself"

Now go ahead and change the names of the programmers for each station and the conversation is the same.

Don't ever discount the possibility of anything happening, including CBS deciding -- much as they did when they torpedoed KXOA "Arrow" a few years back -- that they want to spread their gospel of FM Talk back into Sacramento. However, with FREE FM struggling so badly in San Francisco (not drawing money or ratings), don't hold your breath for it to happen.

You've got a better chance of hearing Mancow in this town before FREE FM lands here...

I was stoppin in to see whats goin on in Sacremento radio. I would hope that Freefm would come to Sacremneto but the only prob is most of the shows on the west coast suck. Except Leykis and maybe Adam. I dont get to hear Adam since those of us here in Dallas have to listen to the dreaded O&A. A show that should be sydicated but is not is The Russ Martin Show. He has been #1 in ratings for the past 6 years and the only morning show that has followed Howard and did better in the ratings in the morning. Check him out he's on 1-5pm your time on 1053freefm.com the dallas cbs affiliate.

Does anyone else really think that FREE FM will EVER come to Sacramento?

Really?

Free FM has failed. CBS is abandoning the format nationwide.

Kidd Chris failed when he was in Sacramento.

What is 93.7 these days?

93.7 is now JACK-FM, and is having more success than it's had in the entire time CBS has owned the frequency. Right before "Arrow 93.7" was torched in favor of the ill-conceived FM Talk experiment, the ratings were close to where they are now -- top eight in most dayparts in adults 25-54.
