Is just stunting to avoid having to pay for marketing for the fall book?

They stunt a little, and the adjust the same playlist they've been using a little to skew older. Out with the aggro. In with the Classic-based rock. Lots of Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, Doors and Hendrix. Less Linkin Park, Godsmack, RATM, and Slipknot.

As I look at a monitor from Friday, it actually appears that the station has taken a more aggressive turn since Hastings arrived. But, my hunch is that he'll take it "Classic Hard Rock" with not-so-aggro current content.

Currents will include Nickelback, Green Day, and whatever other safe, mainstream rock band you can find.

Everyone knows they've made the adjustment now. And they didn't have to buy TV/Ad time to tell the market.

Just a thought...

I personally thought this stunting was a total waste of time. If they wanted to change a new identity, sure, fine go ahead. All this was is a format tweak. Nothing more nothing less. I guess The Brew is really affecting the market more than we think now.

Watch for LUM to drop the ball now that they have no direct competition!
