Could JV and Elvis end up in Atlanta?

With JV and Elvis being blown out of NYC, could they end up on one of our stations?
The bit wasn't THAT bad. They used computer voices to call Chinese restaurants and throw a few stereotypes out. I personally think they wanted out of FreeFm in NYC and staged the bit. It happened during the Don Imus incident - SURELY they knew it would stir up outrage. Anyway, could CC afford them? Dave? They were Number 1 in San Fran for years before moving to NYC. And super agent Bob Eatman (Regular guys agent) represents them.

Where would they work in Atlanta? Dave is a CBS station. CBS just fired them. They'd work on the Project but I doubt CC Atlanta has it in their budget. Plus, it looks like they're zeroing in on a morning show anyhow. Atlanta is too small for them, besides. They'll probably wind up on satellite or back in San Fran.

I agree, but it could be a while before anyone hires them. Nobody can take a joke these days.

You're 100% correct. No commercial radio corporation that has to answer to stockholders is going to get into bed with them right now (with the exception of satellite).

Yet another reason consolidation ruined radio [content]. It's done wonders for the shareholders, and since they are all that matter, it's the saddest state of affairs.

I disagree that no one will touch them. The bit was pretty harmless and their track record is not one of controversy. Morning shows are tough to find. They have proven ratings success. They WILL have a gig soon, it's just the where that's the question.

No. They've been fired from CBS and Clear Channel under a cloud. They are also obnoxious individuals who aren't very good at business. . Atlanta? Maybe West Palm Beach. Here's the problem they face once they get past the political....they have no ratings and aren't that funny to most people. It's a huge problem to have.

Annnnnd... YOU, winreader, are "most people"? ???

Well, no. There's this thing called Arbitron. It is quantitative, but I'm sure that out of the 99% of audience that didn't tune them in, "unfunny" ranks up there as a primary reason for not listening. Oh, and they were flat out not funny. Noisy and loud. Not funny.
