Could KITS be flipping?

I don't see that URL being registered. How are KITS numbers lately? Seems to me that if CBS wanted a NOW or AMP type CHR format in San Fran, the more likely destinations on the radio dial would be 99.7 or 97.3.

True - but I think it's more likely that 99.7 will be urban-oriented CHR without any "Amp" or "Now" branding....they'll just keep the "MOViN'" moniker. What's in a name, anyway? There are "Kiss"es, "Wave"s, and "Star"s all over the country with different formats.

If they were going to change 99.7's brand, it seems to me they would have done it a few weeks ago when St. John came on-board and started doing a lot of the imaging.

Last week, laradio.com put the "Now 92.3" (New York), and "Amp 97.1" (Los Angeles) logos next to each other - they were virtually identical, so I assume they are the same basic CHR format - fine tuned a bit for each market, probably.

I listened to MOViN for awhile Friday night when St. John was doing the 'toss' to Joe Breezy - it sounded more like Wild 94.9 than Wild 94.9.

Yes it could.
CBS has flipped other stations in this market for no good reason. Might as well stick to the master plan.
Blow 'em up, they blow up reeeeeeal gooood!

Wow, The Return of Top 40 "HOT HITS-KITS" LOL :D

Not really. Other than the switch from Classic Hits to MOViN on 99.7, and dumping the loser Free-FM format on the newly purchased 106.9, what format changes has CBS made? The change from KRQR to Alice was what?....at least 15 years ago. 105.3 had basically the current format when CBS purchased it. I guess a few different formats were tried on 93.3 before that transition to the current Spanish format, but that's because none of those formats had decent ratings. KCBS has been all news for 40 plus years.

I'm not particularly trying to defend CBS, but it seems like they have "blown-up" very few stations over the years since de-regulation.

maybe they will bring back the bald headed guy, I forgot his name? and the newsgal with the boob job I forgot her name. ?

I believe the bald guy is living in New York now, if you mean Alex. If the news woman you are thinking of is Trish Bell, she's still around. Was working at KKIQ in Livermore until recently, and I'm sure she'd love to be back on an SF morning show.

Bad knowledge, Static. Trish never worked with Alex. She was most recently at KBAY doing weekends, but was among those who were told by NextMedia last week that they no longer had to come to work.

I think that Trish was dropped by KKIQ (where she did a great job on the nightly love songs show) and ended up at KBAY (doing weekends) about the same time that Kim Vestal was dropped by KBAY (where she did a terrific midday show) and ended up at KKIQ (where she's now doing weekends). John McLeod, the outstanding longtime KLIV and KARA DJ, voice guy and traffic reporter, has also been doing weekends on KKIQ and KKDV (simulcasting) (I think) for the past month or so.

And now, back to our regularly-scheduled topic, already in progress.

So, you think KITS is changing formats, huh? ::)

My bad. I was thinking of another woman. A real brain fart, since I've worked with Trish and Alex (although at different times/stations.)

The bald guy and the boob job. No wonder many radio personalities don't want to go out and meet the public.

Both Bell ksjo and Thompson kits (briefly) worked with Perry Stoned, what happen to him?

LOL...yep...old saying in the biz: "Listeners are great!...as long as you don't have to meet them!". Don't know where Lori Thompson is these days. Great talent...but I know there were other demons at work there.
