Could Mainline end up with WDKF?

Is it possible? Yep!

Latest rumble is that whoever ends up purchasing 94.5/106.5 combo from Clear Channel may have an offer on the table to take one of those off their hands. I was just talking to someone this afternoon that there is a group that likes what Springfield has to offer.

Making an offer to swap 101.7(5) for 94.5 would make a lot of sense for Mainline. Plus the new owner of 101.7 and 106.5 could target the northern portion of the metro (Miami/Darke/Champaign/Clark).

This way 101 still remains somewhat local to Springfield. Plus make an offer to buy 1340 from Clear Channel.

 Wow. Just think this is the station that went head to head with Z-93 all those years, and now the same group could own both stations. Flash forward to the future, Z-93 is history and Channel 9-4-5 is a struggling peashooter signal that can't decide whether it's CHR/Pop or CHR/Rhythmic or some kind of hybrid between the two. The ratings have been falling off a cliff into the low 2s. If Mainline bought this station, would they keep it CHR or flip it?(To what I don't know). When Z-93 left the airwaves, it left 94.5 as the only CHR in town. If I was ML, i'd make it a CHR-leaning Hot AC, ala Mix 97.1 in Columbus, and continue to needle at 107.7, and let Fly dominate. Use 94.5 as a thorn in 107.7's side, just like 107.7 used it as a thorn in Z's side all those years.

It would make the most sense for Mainline to pick up 94.5 and when they decide to skip town...it would make it even more profitable.
