Could paytoiletry be coming?

Would Tucson ever have a station that exists basically to broker time? Not KNST/Jolt/KCUB/KVOI/KTUC brokering a few hours on Saturday, but a full-fledged brokered station with most of the weekdays and all weekend for sale? Surely everyone is familiar with the nearest example of this, KFNX in Phoenix, which reserves only 7-9am and 5-8pm for "legitimate" programming, selling the rest for $100-500/hr and getting local shows as well as national shows like Roex, Patriot, etc.

1210? Somewhere else? (The Jolt has sold three weekday hours preempting normal shows; two in afternoon drive and one late at night)

For about a year, KFNX had a Nazi program every Saturday afternoon. Hitler was portrayed as a hero. Just what Tucson needs!

Looks like F'NX just went to Premiere for just shy of $5Meg

Premiere is the new 1/2 owner. The station stays the way it is.

According to the posting on the PHX board, the $4.9M went to pay creditors. Perhaps that answers the original question of the viability of a 100% brokered station if a larger market can not support it.

KFNX is focusing more on brokering time to businesses with deep pockets rather than streetfolk who just want to be on the radio. And they're keeping Savage and a local morning show for audience.
