What's the deal with the thirst to bring people back to Seattle? All I read on this board is how radio all sounds the same, blah blah blah, yet if there's a former Seattle air talent or PD that's on the loose, it's imperative we have to bring that person back.
What gives?

But it's quite obvious that a station like the End hasn't been the same for a number of years, no matter who they throw in there.

I completely agree with you that the station isn't the same.
That station needs a complete overhaul under the hood. It doesn't require the same mechanic you used before.

Ivy said:Just an idea. I lived in another market where the alternative rock station sounded very British....they moved more for a top 40 pop/sound (bordering on insane) or on air delivery and warmed it up. It now reigns supreme. Might not work perfectly here but since this topic has been beaten to death with out much for new ideas I thought I'd give it a go.
Bongwater said:I've ALWAYS loved British/Aussie sounding alternative rock stations. You're more likely to hear REAL underground UK/European/Aussie stuff. The stuff you once had to dig through the import bins for at your local record store, but now are as easy as downloading them for free from the web blog of the band/DJ or the record company. Usually, cutting edge foreign stuff is easier to get this way than domestic indie music.
Usually, a Brit or Aussie accent adds EXTRA hipness to your station, regardless of format...
