Could qfm 96 flip to Jack?

Maybe after ownership change but I don't see Infinity investing any money in a format flip.

I spoke to a friend over the weekend who is an ex Infinity employee, but still has a company 401K account. The latest mailing he got from the company said that the properties in Columbus had been sold. Does anybody have any idea as to who?

No matter who owns it, I don't look for QFM to be blown up...unless it's somebody like Salem (unlikely).

Salem would be one possible choice for buying FM's in Columbus.. They would not mind having a Fish here I don't think, Considering how well WCVO is doing with Christian AC.
______________

Happened to hear their Put-in-Bay promo, where they talk about going to the island, "one last time".

Not sure what it means, but, my ears perked up.

Agreed. While other big signals like the Blitz and 97.1 are sinking 12+, Q-FM seems on the rebound. And my understanding is that they've continued to perform extremely well in their key demos even when the 12+ was dropping.

Why would anyone blow up that kind of franchise? Their audience may be aging, but not to the extent of oldies stations' (which caused Infinity -- apparently looking at 2010 in their crystal ball -- to dump oldies for Jack on legendary and successful stations WCBS-FM in New York and WJMK in Chicago). Q-FM sure doesn't seem to be getting hurt much by the Fox, Ted, the Q's Active Rock nemesis the Blitz, or talk WTVN. I think even Radio One would leave the format and frequency in place, at least for awhile.
______________

I certainly have no clue, but that's interesting because just yesterday Viacom co-COO Les Moonves said at a financial luncheon that Infinity expects to sell a lot fewer below-Top 20 market stations than originally thought. Many think the whole spinoff process is on hold until Viacom resolves its own company split-up issue. But if Infinity told 401K-holders that the Columbus properties have been sold, I guess it's true...unless the deal has been cancelled since the mailing went out.
______________
