Agreed. While other big signals like the Blitz and 97.1 are sinking 12+, Q-FM seems on the rebound. And my understanding is that they've continued to perform extremely well in their key demos even when the 12+ was dropping.
Why would anyone blow up that kind of franchise? Their audience may be aging, but not to the extent of oldies stations' (which caused Infinity -- apparently looking at 2010 in their crystal ball -- to dump oldies for Jack on legendary and successful stations WCBS-FM in New York and WJMK in Chicago). Q-FM sure doesn't seem to be getting hurt much by the Fox, Ted, the Q's Active Rock nemesis the Blitz, or talk WTVN. I think even Radio One would leave the format and frequency in place, at least for awhile.<P ID="signature">______________
