Could Rush radio happen in big markets?

1200 in Boston will not be "Rush Radio", branding wise, even when they take over Rush at the end of the WRKO contract (2012, if I remember right).
I don't see CC using that branding in a market the size of Boston, and they're launching without him for two years...

I'm not so sure about that. It was mentioned over on the Boston board that CC has registered the domain name RushRadio1200.com

True enough that Entercom's 680 WRKO DOES hold the contract for Rush till 2012. But....If Clear Channel really DID want to launch WITH Rush....they could probably offer some sort of sweetener/incentive to get Entercom Boston to surrender Rush before the contract expires.

Yeah, I heard that elsewhere...so maybe they are gonna do it in Boston.

I would still say I don't see them using the branding on their existing large market talkers like WTAM here. The Boston situation is from scratch, and who knows if they're going to make a play for a strong local show on 1200...
