Could Syndicated Morning Show land at the River?

I was thinking maybe Nikki Sixx or John Boy and Billy both out of Premiere's collection of shows.

Maybe Bob and Tom.

Do you think the River could go non-local?

Probably not syndicated and definitely not any of those shows. Remember Bob & Tom's warm welcome on 96Rock? River has developed some personality in the last 12 months, but the station's image is all about the music. As such, they'll stay largely music-intensive in mornings.

Or John Boy & Billy on 96 Rock, who are too cornpone for ATL (if Moby was on country, then JB&B definitely are on rock) and nobody in ATL wants a show out of Charlotte, just because.

In some ways, River is beating dave.fm at its own game. Who'da thunk?

Cornpone?

How about Rick & Bubba out of BHM? It is already sydicated in a lot of places in the south, and it might be an option. They work for Cox now who sydicates their product. They were on WSB AM for awhile on Sundays for replay. Could they fit as a full blown talk morning show in ATL? They have been trying to get on ATL forever.

Why would Cox "Block Program" 97.1? 100.5 is is already doing that and it is not working:

IMHO someone with brief comedy or info bits (less than 60 sec.) and a few more traffic reports should help mornings. 97.1 bills itself as a more (50 minutes of classic rock) music station. R & B would be inexpensive (Cox), but after the 98.5 Steve & Vickie experience I doubt if Cox Atlanta is ready for a "big" morning show on one of their "non urban" FM's.

Bob and Tom was one of the worst things I personally listened to in ATL. I'd rather have Money in the Mornings back. Their incessant laughter was just grating.
