Could this be a sign of things to come on Magic 98.3?

I got an email about a music survey being conducted by the Magic 98.3 program director. It asked the listeners to rate how much they like hearing certain songs. Last month the survey contained all Hot AC/CHR songs, and I rated them low because I don't want to hear them on Magic 98.3. This month, the survey contained more traditional AC songs and I rated them high. Magic 98.3 would be back on my presets if they stuck to the format of the most recent music survey.
Here's the list of songs in this survey

Nick unless you are of the coveted 25-54 female demo unfortunately your stance doesn't carry as much weight truth be told. That said, seems to me that someone in the Greater Media camp has caught on and is holding individuals accountable for the stations consistent underperforming ways. Since the current PD also held the same title under WJRZ's former classic hits format it seems to me that he has decided to revisit the idea of incorporating those "safe and well tested songs" from that era into the current version of Magic in NB. Not entirely sure if he schedules the music with his double duty as PD for 2 different stations in adjacent markets or if he has a "right hand" or MD but it would seem to me that they are 2 ships passing in the night with no map, gps or communication of any sort which would explain 98.3's current "all over the place & be everything to everyone" approach.

I would think some changes or reassigning of responsibilties is certainly in order if the latter is true. By the same token those surveys could just be a formality to offer up the impression to a select group of people that their opinions DO actually matter when the reality is the consultants and research dictate everything. Magic needs to regress back to the days when it served it's audience with a unique style/format that wasn't already saturated on the dial. Too much competition for them between NYC, Philly and Monmouth to an extent leave them with 2 options: be a leader or a follower... The latter hasn't served them well as of late and neither has the voicetracking... You can bring in all the talent in the world on board but if the content isn't compelling enough to get them (listeners in your core demo) there in the first place what does it matter in the end if you have solid jocks or liner carts??

Just my thoughts... ;)

My understanding is the MD generally schedules the music. But the PD sets up the rotation of music categories and what songs are actually in those categories based on research, and a little gut. The PD should be checking the logs after they're scheduled to make sure the flow is exactly the way he or she wants it.

To be continuously slammed by NYC stations in Monmouth-Ocean should be embarrassing to Greater Media.

But when was the last time the company actually researched the market to see what listeners want? Specifically female listeners? Why not, at least, do some internet research on music?
