Could this be Dothan?

From Country aircheck today:

Blind Gig Alert: Come play within a stone's throw of Florida's Gulf Coast Beaches. Heritage Southeast Alabama Country Station is looking for its next great morning show. If you are a dynamic morning personality or morning team that still has passion for creating great radio, and the sincerity to make listeners want to move in next door to you, you're exactly what we're looking for. We're a small company in a small market, but the attitude, benefits and compensation package are anything but. Send five minutes (or less) of audio, a brief employment history, and performance track record (ratings history) here NOW!!! Your next opportunity is waiting. (EOE)

Southeast Alabama...anyone have any ideas who?

If heritage means the best sounding country station in Southeast Alabama, it could be WEEVIL101. Country since the early 90's, it could be WDJR. Dave doesn't like mornings, but this could be just a eeo posting for him and a new partner. How many other, good benefits and compensation stations are there in Southeast Alabama? Man, talk about not being able to enjoy a holiday weekend. Will I have a job when Monday comes? Who's worried? Oh Ron! Hey Richard!

Why would WDJR post an ad for a new morning team six weeks before the book comes out? On the other hand, the guys on the 8th floor are known for making such changes before the book is released and even during the book. If not them, then who?

Possibilities; Weevil may be going live again, don't think DJR can claim "Heritage" status (can they?), remember the rumors about the Queen and KC jumping to Holliday.....? We've all read the rumor on these boards that she said it was she or KVD but one was going to have to go. Maybe KVD is lining up a team before he shows the door to someone? I'll need to consult with Headland's Book of Magic to try and get an indication from the prophet. As for the compensation, I think you can get at least three (maybe four) princesses for a queen. I'd guess it to be the three for one deal. If it is then.....uh oh, musical morning show chairs may arrived in Dothan.

Oh yeah Ricky this would be normal for the magical mystery tour.

In an ironic twist that we are reading this on Independence Day-a day we celebrate our freedom. Sounds like someone may have alot of freedom soon. That we stumble across the following from the great book...

Book of Magic Chapter 9 verse 55

The queens reign will battle storms with new forces who knows the problems of kingdom. Problems that cause great unrest to the queen. In the end after the battles the kingdom will suffer until the queens reign and the force parts way and a new beginning is upon us.

I am thinking this could be TVY because when you go to thier website they are the only one calling themselves a "Heritage Country Station"

"95.5 WTVY, Today's Best Country & the Legends, is the Dothan Market's "Heritage Country Music Station." For 35 years WTVY has been penatrating 51 counties in Southeast Alabama, Southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle."

Ron Jeremy would be proud!

Is there any possibility they could be talking about Valdosta. It's a rated market. Possibly Mobile? Hardly considered a small market. Any thoughts?

Yes just one..... The ad says "Southeast Alabama" so I wouldn't think they are talking about Mobile (West Alabama) or Valdosta (South Central Georgia).

Andalusia, Opp, Troy, Eufaula? Does Ozark have a country station? Does WBBK in Donaldsonville, GA target Dothan? I don't think any of the Marianna, FL stations reach Dothan, but if I'm wrong, maybe...

There would be no reason in the world to change such a successful morning show other than budget or as Wattcher implies is "an intimidation tactic" which in my opinion if the case creates a hostile environment. Typical management by intimidation, tragically that is the way incompetent, intimidated people run their companies, hence many radio companies are suffering ..and it is only going to get worse...this story from Radio Ink:

Analyst: 'Deeper And Wider Trough Ahead' For U.S. Ad Market

NEW YORK -- July 7, 2008: BMO Capital Markets analyst Lee Westerfield says "a deeper and wider trough lies ahead" for U.S. advertising and has reduced his forecasts on ad growth for 2008 and 2009.

"The U.S. ad cycle has worsened, not troughed," Westerfield says in a report on the broadcast industry. "We remain cautious." He is now prodicting 1.8 percent growth for U.S. advertising in 2008, down from an earlier forecast of 3.6 percent, and 1.9 percent in 2009, down from 2.7 percent, but he sees "a revival to 6.1 percent growth in 2010." Westerfield reiterates his "underperform" rating for the media sector.

For radio, Westerfield forecasts that ad revenue will fall 5 percent in 2008 and 3 percent in 2009. He writes, "For radio, three forces continue to depress the value of otherwise highly profitable radio assets -- one, revenue downside from ad rate declines, two, debt leverage risks at groups on the cusp of breaching covenants, and three, stalled station deal activity as lending markets remain all but closed to asset sales at historical stick-valuations."

Are ads like this verified as to coming from authorized individuals?
Could it have been placed by someone that dislikes a certain morning show or individual?
