COULD THIS BE THE STUPIDEST QUESTION OF THE WEEK?

About to move from Tulsa to Levittown to help my sister care for our ailing Mom. Would love to find some part time work in Philly, Wilmington, Trenton, etc...

Is there actually such a thing in existence there or is it much like other markets?

Try calling the temp agencies in the area. I'm sure they can hook you up with some part-time work. You go in, take a couple tests and they call you when work comes in. I know CareersUSA, Randstad and Kelly Services are in the Wilmington area as I've used them.

Good luck :D

P.S.:Not a stupid question. :) Not a radio question ::), but not stupid. 8)

OOPS...sorry...was referring to radio work. Doing it now in Tulsa. I figured asking about ANY available radio work might be stupid!!

News/talker WDEL-AM 1150 Wilmington might still be looking for a fulltime reporter (Carl Kanefsky left a couple of weeks ago). Chris Carl is the News Director, WDEL's phone number is 302-478-2700. Good luck.

Bad timing, both Clear Channel and CBS have hiring freezes. Beasley and Greater Media don't seem to have any openings. However, there's tons of suburban stations around with possible opportunities at some decent outlets in Trenton, Atlantic City, Allentown, and we shouldn't leave out WBCB 1490 in Levittown. ;-) If you just want to keep your feet wet, there's also plenty of non-coms in the area too, where you could volunteer and have access to a production studio.

Are you looking do music formats, talk, or news? Trenton's New Jersey 101.5 and SoJo 104.9 are just across the river from Levittown, be sure to check them out. The local college stations often have non-student volunteers filling-in during the Summer break. Just some ideas to get you started.

Good luck! Sorry to hear about your mom.

BCB a definite possibility! Understand the hiring freeze thing...heartland not much different from da big city!!
I do music...any adult format will do. 40 years of this and still love prepping and staying on top of stuff. Don't know how long I'll be off the air before I start to go ga-ga...we'll see.

Thanks for the ideas, Easybake! Appreciate you!
