Could this happen? Or has it been tried already?

Could Centro Cristiano buy KMAZ-LP?? Or have they already reached them with an offer? Anyone know? I’m just Curious about it

Since Centro has full power stations it would be illegal for them to own a Low Power FM like KMAZ. With that said, they could establish a different non-profit than the full power stations that could operate a LPFM. The FCC technically does not allow LPFMs to be bought and sold except for a realistic appraised value of existing equipment. So, if their assets are truly appraised at $10,000 then they can ask for up to $10,000. Most LPFMs are donated for no consideration.

Centro Cristiano owns
KJFI-LP.

technically, they dont.. its owned by
IGLESIA MUNDIAL DE ORACION INC

even if its at the same address and phone number, its a different licensee

Ok could IGLESIA MUNDIAL DE ORACIÓN INC buy KMAZ-LP??

No, you can only own one LPFM, unless youre a native tribal organization

There are other shady organizations that have done things that were illegal with respect to broadcast licenses before. They lost their licenses at some point.
