Could This Work For Infinity???

With the Zone going oldies and from the sounds of it beating Infinity to the oldies swimming pool I got to thinking today and believe me sometimes my brain really does work. Lets travel east to New York City... After all kinds of format tweaks WNEW 102.7 seems to have slowly hit on something that is starting to work for them and that is the Rhythmic AC format. for the longest time they have not been doing so great, but now seem to be getting their act together music wise... Could a B 96/CKG combo work for Infinity where B could home in on the 18-34 crowd where CKG could go for the money demo aka 25-54... Although I only had the chance to hear B 96 in its prime once it seems on the message board that there is a decent size amount of listeners that would support a well programed classic dance station... Would this work or would it hurt B? Letting my brain run wild in Rockford... CC
 
If GCI, V103 and Power weren't in the pool it could work. However there are too many Urban irons in the fire right now. Remember the 22 immutable laws of marketing - The first one in the pool wins!

WNEW in New York has no impact on the Urbans or Urban ACs, in fact Urban AC WRKS tied for #1 in the most recent trend.

The reason I don't think rhythmic AC would work in Chicago is that WILV already exists. Love is a softer version of a rhythmic AC,it's close enough where the hole for a WNEW type of format isn't available.
