Could this work??

With the upcoming CW network, that will leave 45 with some space to fill. So my question is, could a locally produced sitcom/drama work? This idea was thrown around the national tv board when the UPN/WB merger was first announced and it stuck in my head.

Honestly if I think this could go down, it would have to be soap opera-ish, stick it at a local resort, and would run once a week.

There is enough people in the valley that think they can act and would be on the cheap, plus I would think some resort or club here would want to get in on it and have that be a major set for it, mix in a few more local sponsors and ta-da.

I know this doesn't take into effect all the other stuff that's needed for it. But could something like this work? Is there enough money for something like this and do you think the community would really watch something like this?

It won't be world class entertainment, but it will be local and something different.

It would be expensive and that one station would have to absorb all the cost. If anything 45 will probably offer something from fox's library and possibly some kind of news eventually.

Let's just say, art imitated life a little too close and some people got up in arms about it.

The first part of that paragraph describes at least one person here in the valley. I need the money.

It lasted 15 episodes; longer than quite a number of major series.

TVG did an article about 45701 once.

Drop me a line and I'll be more than happy to contribute to "85213" or something like that. Have a nice day. =)
