More than likely Newsmax has insurance to cover them from liabilities like this. It doesn't mean it's pleasant being dragged through the court of public opinion and speculation. It was worth it to the Murdoch's to have paid three quarters of a billion to avoid more of the same with a protracted public hearing.

This may be true, but It seems to me that Carlson would be an ideal fit for that Noon to 3 EST slot. It's been said that Limbaugh's show revitalized (AM) radio back in the day...I think Tucker Carlson is much more divisive/opinionated than Rush Limbaugh was, and generally more outrageous. I'm sure there are programmers preparing offers...
The big players already have that slot filled. By that I mean iHeart, Audacy, and Cumulus. The ONLY way there's enough money is if it's syndicated on over 500 stations, and after Rush, that is a hard number to reach. And then Tucker has to want to work for three hours, and as we've pointed out, that's a long time to sustain the kind of energy he had on TV. My last point is that he's much less effective when you remove the visual element. This is why I say the video podcast, along the lines of what Joe Rogan and all the other folks do, is the best option.
As another poster indicated, Tucker comes from the world of TV with writers and prompters and a whole team scheduling guests. TV people generally don't transition to radio well as they can't easily improvise and engage in spontaneous talk and chat.
I don't see Carlson making an easy transition to radio (nor do I want to see it as I think he defined what "over the line" means today).
There are lots of examples but the one that stands out to me is Jim Cramer. He is the most animated and engaging TV hosts in his area of expertise. But when he did a talk radio show, it was as dull as my freshman economics class. Which is why it went away.
But O'Reilly was equally awful. His pomposity really came through on radio, and that's not an attractive trait. He could make it engaging with a wink, but he didn't have that at his disposal on the radio.

Where Tucker Carlson goes next is going to be played as the political version of the NFL Draft and Trade.
An article I read claimed Tucker Carlson's show had become toxic to the point that despite his good ratings most major advertisers shied away from him which left per inquiry ads and the My Pillow guy.

Not so much toxic as crazy. Once Trump left the White House, even he wasn't taking meetings with Lindell anymore as he had no time for the off the wall conspiracies and outlandish ideas. The last known meeting was when DJT was still in the Oval Office and Lindell showed up for a meeting, stating he had "proof" that the election was rigged and that Trump was still the rightful president. News agencies were able to zoom in and view exactly what Lindell was carrying - and it turned out to be printouts of a bunch of long-debunked conspiracies from fringe websites, and the kind of internet fodder that had been proven to be false multiple times.
Well...it just goes to show you that lunacy knows no bounds...

Mike Lindell plays this as if its his NFL Trade and Draft for the best player. However, this requires a program director like Suzanne Scott and Jay Wallace of Fox News though to make that work. Still all these players have to go court for the Smartmatic Lawsuits.
How much of Lindell's lunacy is that he really believes it and how much is that he knows it's a pack of lies but he keeps pushing it because he's making money off of it or that he thinks it will give him more political power in the future?
I don't think Lindell has much of a serious shot at "political power in the future". He showed up to the RNC hoping to get voted in as RNC chair. Lots of folks in that party just gave a sigh and an eyeroll whent hey found out he was coming. There were 167 votes cast to elect the RNC chair. Lindell got 4.
Regarding his making money, I'm not sure what he makes off ventures like Frank Speech or Lindell TV, but he's for sure hurt his "MyPillow" business badly. More than a few retailers (including Walmart, which is huge) pulled it from their shelves, all his mall kiosks and stores have closed, and in an article just last month, Lindell claimed his company was broke and he had to borrow $10M to defend all the lawsuits against him. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has an "F" rating listed for MyPillow, FWIW.
