Could We Describe 80's Stations On This Board?

Well, since 80's has most of the time been dying, many former 80's stations were Jacked up (such as in Minneapolis, Madison & Omaha). Citadel didn't wanna flip GT108 from oldies to adult hits, 'cuz in Chattanooga, they had an 80's outlet. Oldies survived there, 'cuz its 80's station had to go and become an adult hits station. If you've got an 80's station, just Jack it up. If you've got an oldies station in a market with no 80's station and your market doesn't support oldies, then Jack it up.

Keep in mind that Cox has some successful 80s outlets (Tampa and Jacksonville come to mind), and in those cases they don't want to Jack anything up. I love the Variety Hits format, but if a company isn't interested in putting the format on in a given place, it's not going to happen.<P ID="signature">______________
