I misss Retro 93.9 with their 8os, dance, Rhythmic lean,, most 80s stations stuck to the rock and ac side, but I think Retro 93.9 and 103.1 Chicago where th best 80s formats ever. I think 107.9 should have went with all 80s and went deeper,l instead of playing AC from 80s and 90s,, I actually think the track was better and I thought it couldnt be any worse than that, but its always AC stuff when I flip it on,, no rock or dance stuff......UGHH another AC format that wont work.

I want an all 1930's country station, or maybe an all Ledbelly station.

Most of the '80s 'hair band' rock like G 'N R, Leppard, AC/DC and '80s mainstream rock like Benatar, Squier, Journey, Boston, even Tommy TuTone, is covered by the three or four classic stations in town. So that only leaves the Michael Jackson, Pet Shop Boys, Culture Club and other early MTV era pop rock that had a limited, finite number of listenable hits.

More importantly, that nostalgic feeling of going back to that era wears off quickly, and typically ratings plummet.

107.9 is the closest to hearing some of that '80s pop you're likely going to get anytime soon. Not sure how mixing AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck' and 50 cents' 'In Da Club' is going to work, but my humble opinion is they need to find some direction pretty soon.

I'm not sure there's much hope for a station defined by a decade. It's not like musical tastes changed when the clock ticked over. The stations that have tried strictly 80's haven't fared well. Frankly, I'm a little tired of any format that conforms strictly to a set of rules (do listeners really care if you stray as long as it fits the sound of the station?) Maybe that's why the new(ish) 107.9 is moderately appealing to me. At least they break out of the "late 80s/early 90s hits" box once in a while... the problem will be that that box is a little to snug and the thing will start to get stale... well, about a week ago.

Too many 'risque' songs for a mother's taste. They're going to have to cut some of the hip-hop/RB.

After hearing 'In da Club' one day, heard Nelly's "Ride With Me" yesterday. Bleeping out was very minor on the "do me like you should, f*** me good s*** me good, we be them stud ni***s, wishin you was ni***s, poppin like we drug dealers"

It went from Simple Minds to the Nelly tune. Not going to work. Too much of a jump even for a strip club.

Cut out the thug tunes and they may have a chance.

Maybe they're actually doing a stripper format without using that name. Those girls always have lots of disposable income (in one dollar bill form).

if they were gonna be like this, why didnt they just do like GEN X in Louisville,, and stick to late 80s through early 00s,, at least its not a train wreck.. ive even heard 107.9 play 70s ballads, into todays rap......WTF

We all know why that is. (looking at you, Mr. Roddy) Those who know (or know of) Scott Roddy can tell without being told that he's running the music. The same thing happened at WKLU. The man loves the music most of us hate and he'd just as soon throw over a request that hits his formatic ideal as play one of his own. As I said, it's a shame.

And Ho, I hadn't heard the songs you mention, but it seems completely crazy to me to play those songs on this station. I get more and more disappointed each and every day.

They do play everything. I heard My 107.9 play Frank Sinatra's "My Way" this week.

station is horrible,, should have gone oldies or 90s based CHR like Gen X Louisville
