Could WHIZ be starting a trend?...

Just wondering...

With WHIZ-FM pulling out of Zanesville, do you think that CVCO will someday start relaying the 104.9 signal onto 92.7 and change the name to "The River"(and 95.1)... and just sell local advertising?

I know it has been left as an option if they absolutly needed to.. I mean think about it.. how much different is the 104.9 program schedule than 92.7?... Morning show and evenings.. thats it.

Or will 92.7 stay local and just pick up what WHIZ is leaving behind? I would think thats the smart move... from what I have heard, the 2 stations have gone head to head the past few years with promotions.. now with WHIZ basically jumping out of the fight.. Joy FM can grab up everything they want.

What are your thoughts?

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

If I know Dan and Crew they will contiune to program the 3 signals local for the great while. WCVZ while not as big as a money maker as say WCVO is in Columbus, they are doing quite well in the Zansville Market, I dont see them making any drastic changes anytime soon, if anything they would go 24/7 Christian AC (dropping the evening preaching block) I do not see them making a 3 station simocast. If WHIZ Does leave (looks like they are from filings with the FCC) that would only open up more room for WCVZ to do well in the Zansville area, While WIZ is a Mainstream AC/HotAC, Christian AC tagets a simular market that Wiz currently targets so I could see CVZ doing quite well.

My wife is a big fan of Joy FM. :) IMO, staying local is the best thing WCVZ can do, especially with WHIZ out of the picture down the road.

Just a thought: could WHIZ's move also mean new possibilities for the AVC stations based in Cambridge? I know they're focused on Guernsey County, but WYBZ/107.3 *is* in Zanesville.
