WLTW has a higher share than all 3 CBS/NY stations combined!

LTW probably also has higher 25-54 than 12+ numbers. So it wouldn't surprise me if LITE has a higher 25-54 share than all 3 CBS FMs put together. If not, it will be true by the time the book comes out as the old WXRK months (two of which are still included in this trend) get replaced with FREE FM.

After reading the Radio and Records article, I would say the drops in the money demos are WORSE than the 12+ declines.

Jack down in 25-54 also

Everyone in the past has said that the 12+ ratings don't really count when it comes to comparing the ratings between 101.1 CBS-FM and 101.1 Jack-FM.

But the recent Radio & Records article about Howard Stern mentions towards the end that Jack's ratings have dipped substantially in the key 25-54 demo also.

Does this not finally prove that Jack isn't working?

Dear CBS:

It would be okay to admit that Jack isn't working and perhaps return the oldies format on 101.1. The listeners have spoken and you could win points by listening.

This could be fun, the radio version of "New Coke".

As for WNEW-FM go back to Classic free form AOR.

I like the Jack format personally, but I don't think it will ever work in NYC. It's been on long enough to know. It's not going to suddenly start taking off now. It was probably doomed from the start due to the frequency CBS chose to put it on. They would be better off today if instead of going Jack, they updated CBS-FM and made it more 70s instead of 60s based. They did this at KFRC/San Francisco and are having success with it.

... and it looks as if "Free FM" is taking a similar (downward) elevator ride. DLR? DOA!
