Count & Sinden feat Kid Sister

Not digging it. It was annoying on a couple of levels - "Hit Me On My Beeper"? Over and over again? 1991 called, it wants its beepers back.
Second was that annoying speed garage beat - 1997 called and it wants that beat back :p I mean, that type of sound was great on Armand Van Helden's remix of "Professional Widow" by Tori Amos, or more recently on the releases from T2 (like "Heartbroken"). This song however was more reminiscent of Mr. Oizo's "Flat Beat", yuck. Lastly, whats up with the singer and all that makeup? Is that a girl or a guy?

Any other suggestions Jay D? I'm usually into the type of House records you bring up.

LOL...

This song is popular amongst the "hipster" scene... The rapper (kid sister - a chic) has a song with Kanye West right now that gets played on Hot 97's mixshows and on BET... shes making a lil noise for herself right now. She was on MTV TRL last week as well...

The song definitely has an old school feel.. like the dress, fashion, etc of that scene... I dunno - I just feel it brings me back to the Hot 103/97 days when Urban music was both Dance and Hip Hop...

More and more people are embracing dance music and producers are making tracks that has elements of different genres of the past and today... I think Dance music is morphing... of course we will always have the typical Dance productions, that wont go anywhere... but songs like this, Calabria, T2 (which is a sub genre called Niche/Bassline) are a new breed of dance music... lets see where it goes..
