Countdown and the Daily Show

If you sit in front of the TV any night just soaking up the "liberal bias", you can get five hours between 'Hardball",The Ed Show 'Countdown', Rachel Maddow, "The Daily Show",and the "Colbert Report". Some nights they all go after the same target with the same clips. You can see Glenn Beck act "goofy" on all 6 shows. Why is Jon Stewart deemed the most likeable? He can get conservatives like Huckabee , Gingrich, or Bolton to come on his show and he actually jokes around with them. Thoughts? And Bill Maher also uses the same material.

Hmmm...I don't consider Jon Stewart to be a liberal host...I have seen him take on both sides of the aisle. His detractors dismiss him as a comic, but he has more credibility than his critics allow since he is the only one to call B.S. on some sacred cows. His show researched and rightly exposed Jim Cramer as the huckster he is, IMO. Stephen Colbert also lampoons both sides, and has supported our military efforts on many occasions.

MSNBC is a different story of course. They're simply the counter-program to Fox News, only they do a lousy job of it.

I recall a couple of months ago, Olbermann issued a "quarantine" on Fox News, which led to him not lampooning Fox hosts on his show; I also noticed other MSNBC shows going "easy" (for lack of a better term) on Fox News folks around that same time; my guess is that the real reason behind this is because GE (MSNBC's parent) bought ad time on Fox News - or maybe it's just a coincidence... Anyhow, with Beck now alleging our President is a "racist," I guess the shoes dropped on MSNBC the next day, with all their shows attacking him... although I only wonder what Olbermann's take would be on it; he's been on vacation for almost two weeks, I wonder if he might have been suspended; I even checked the Gawker website for updates, lol (Gawker published an erroneous story behind a previous leave of absence by Olbermann from his show)... And incidentally, Olbermann sub David Shuster is MIA this week - perhaps looking for a new toupee to buy? (Again, Google it and you'll find the story I'm referring to.) I will say that Howard Dean and even contributor Richard Wolffe have been okay subbing for Olbermann on "Countdown", and surprisingly Dean more than Wolffe. Not bad for somewhat of a newbie to cable news.

Of course they deal with the same material, its THE NEWS.
And you can also soak up hours upon hours of that "conservative bias" on Fox.
Have you watched Jon Stewart? He is likeable. He seems to be able to get people to defend their point of view without becoming really defensive.
Last, the less Glen Beck, the better. He should be on a soap opera, not a news channel.

Glen Beck is is becoming loonier by the minute. But I guess that's good for ratings. Also I was wondering does it mean I'm gay that I find Racheal Maddow attractive. :-[

I presume Keith is on vacation. He did a piece about Pete Rose from Cooperstown on his show last week. If anybody thinks he has been suspended , why him and not Chris or Rachel ? Why would they suspend David Schuster? Does anybody have hard facts to back this up? I think Lou Dobbs should take his act to FOX as he certainly displays "bias". As for Jon Stewart, I see him as a liberal commentator, although a more genial host. However his show with O'Reilly shows he can have teeth if needed. Colbert is "playing" a conservative. Just because he supports the well-being of our troops in Iraq is not any contradiction to being a liberal.

Conservatives are very quick to forget that Stewart and Colbert are comedians--even if they might be left of center in real life, they really root for mine-able humor to use on their Comedy Central shows. They have let President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and other Democrats 'have it' on contradicting actions or statements quite often.

Besides, how do you NOT make fun of a crackpot who claims 'Obama is racist against white people' and then a minute later says 'I'm not saying Obama hates white people'...? When you're easy to lampoon, you're easy to lampoon.
