"Countdown Clock" On KGOFM.com...

This morning, a linked line of text reading "Countdown Clock by Zoodu.com" has appeared on www.KGOFM.com ... but nothing happens.

As the website loads, it shows that it is trying to pull a file from http://mailhost.citcomm-sf.com/pics ... but nothing happens.

The corporate parent website for KGO (radio, not TV) shows something unusual, though:

http://www.citcomm-sf.com/

Three-and-a-half hours and counting...

Aha...

Because the KGOFM.com page is trying to drag some Flash code from the Zoodu.com website, and since it isn't connecting, the KGOFM.com front page isn't loading correctly (at least for me).

But if you pop open the source code for KGOFM.com's front page, you find this in the HTML:

It begins

[ZOODU COUNTDOWN CLOCK CODE]

Tune into AM 810 to learn about the future

Hey, why make one post when you can make three?

As John Lennon once sang, "Here's another clue for you all..."

Looking at the Flash code behind the KGOFM.com front page, the "countdown" is set to end at:

year=2008&month=10&day=30&hour=10&min=30&sec=0

...which (if your eyes get blurry) equals 10/30/2008 at 10:30 a.m.

Okay, one more post...

Isn't it odd to anyone else that there is no mention of this upcoming event on the www.KGOAM810.com website, which is one of the most-heaviest trafficked websites (yeah, that's grammatical) around these parts?

Hey, wait a second...

Somebody's doing work on the KGOFM.com website ... the branch folder with pictures of the FM studio under construction (pics/fm-studio-const) is now showing up -- by accident?

Hmmm.

Well, well, well...

All this is happening live-time. The folder with the "FM studio under construction" was created on the ABC-SF.com server (yes, ABC-SF.com) at 7:26 this morning.

The photos date from 10/24/2008 and 10/27/2008.

I'm having a look at all the photos, and there's nothing interesting so far ... just a bunch of shots of a console, and a studio under construction, and ... hey! I know that guy!!!

The transmitter site photos date back to to March 8, 2008...

I saw the folder, and figured I'd find pictures of the Dumbarton AM site. Nope, these are shots from a misty mountaintop.

I had to step away for moment, but now...

The KGO web guy is trying to re-direct KGOFM.com to KGOradio.com, but has an error in the HTML (it's in the FRAME code).

A simple meta refresh tag works much easier...

Misleading promos. 1030 at 1030 is that they have installed Solar Panels. We are so gullible. From press release:
MEDIA ADVISORY
MADAM SPEAKER NANCY PELOSI THROWS SWITCH:
KGO NEWSTALK AM 810 GOES SOLAR
LIVE FROM THE RONN OWENS SHOW

WHAT: KGO Newstalk AM 810 will be the first commercial major broadcast media outlet in California to reach its listeners by harnessing the power of the sun and reducing its use of the power grid. In partnership with PG&E and SolFocus, KGO will unveil its new state-of-the-art solar power system during the Ronn Owens Show with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi this Thursday, October 30. The system will generate clean, renewable energy, marking the first of many new green initiatives by KGO Radio.

WHY: KGO takes leadership in making eco-friendly business practices “the norm” through promoting public awareness about the benefits of renewable energy and sustainable practices. KGO Radio’s website [kgoradio.com] is featuring photos and blog updates that will allow the public to learn more about solar power. In addition, the station will be conducting a Bay Area-wide search for a student reporter who in 2009 will report on green initiatives in his/her school through KGO Radio’s “Making the Grade Green Program.”

Sheesh.

kgofm.com now redirects to KGO 810 site

...which I mentioned two posts ago. But, as of 9:30 a.m., there is still an error in the HTML.

Probably not by accident. There's "transmitter-site-pics" now too. Sure looks like San Bruno to me.

Dave B.

Well, I'll be darned. Sounds like an FM site that can serve the Southbay, eh? Now, who will guess the station?

Somebody should have mentioned to Madame Speaker to ix-nay mentioning anything about the hush-hush surprise announcement before the hush-hush surprise announcement was made...

But I love that Ronn With Two Nns said "And now, the new host of KGO's 10 to 1 program is..." (and cue the commercial).

Ronn gets it.

And just how many of those "sucker things" are born each minute?

Jack Swanson let the cat out of the bag yesterday to Al Peterson's News-Talk-Sports blog that "...no spark to light that flame" from "those infamous public message boards" according to Al.

Could the 49ers come back to KGO next year? Gosh, let's hope not. Could Karel really get the 10-1 slot? Gosh, let's ... never mind. Does the government allow ISDN lines from Beaumont Prison or Lompoc, maybe? Let's ... not go there.

Citadel at $.27 a share today. I don't think they're in a position to launch an FM anywhere right now. Unless it's a Belkin transmitter hooked to a headhone output ...

Ronn with two N's was funny at 10:30, with Solarizing Madame Speaker. "...an announcement about 10-1." Yeah, he gets it.
