Country format Jack FM style

That's close to what I've been doing for a while. Big D Country has had 172,257 streams launched
with the "today's top country hots and the legends" country blend.

It tends to attract an older demo, which probably works against it in terrestrial radio.

One country artist that did hear this format was the late Ernie Ashworth. I don't know how he found the station, but I was playing "Talk Back Tremblin' Lips," Ernie's hit from 1963. Ernie heard it
and was ecstatic.

Hi yu"all .Hehehe. Now would a country version of JackFM format work.Play tunes from the 50's ,60's to present tunes.

Jack doesn't play 50s & 60s to the present, regardless of their "Playing what we want" claim. They are mainly a 70s & 80s rock station.

Just saw this, offered by Envision Radio Network:

HANK FM: Similar to its Adult Hits cousins, BOB FM and JACK FM, HANK FM® doesn’t play by the rules. Breaking the mold with a unique mix of over 1000 tested titles spanning from the 80’s, 90’s, 00’s and today, HANK plays everything country, including “the new” (Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown Band and Carrie Underwood), “the known” (Brad Paisley, Reba and Garth Brooks) and “the legends” (Randy Travis, The Judds and Merle Haggard).

The station I work at, WKDZ-FM, plays a buffet of songs from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and today. We only play two to three currents an hour and the rest is recurrents, B-currents, Golds, Recurrent Golds, etc. People seem to love it simply because the REAL country fans appreciate the older music just as much as the newer. I once heard that you can't appreciate country now if you don't appreciate country THEN!

From 2002 to 2006, a Riverside/San Bernardino station had a country oldies format. It was known as "1350, The Toad" (KTDD), and was in contrast to several stations calling themselves K-Frog, most notably KFRG and KFGY. The Toad bragged about playing "real country music" as opposed to the pop-sounding country of modern country stations. They played, for example, 1950s hits by Hank Williams, Hank Snow, Hank Thompson, Webb Pierce, Eddy Arnold and Kitty Wells, 1960s hits by Buck and Merle and Loretta and George Jones, 1970s hits by Freddie Hart, Charley Pride, Asleep At The Wheel and Hank Jr., plus any traditional-sounding song from the 1980s to the present. In 2006, management decided it would be cheaper to air the satellite-fed "Country Gold" format from Jones Satellite Network. Of course the satellite format features only the biggest pop-country hits, mostly from the '80s and '90s. Sigh. The original "Toad" was fun while it lasted.

i agree i live in the Los Angeles area, and "the toad" now plays the 200's as well, and they play samples of new artists, doesnt fit well with the demo.
