Country Radio Dream On-Air Lineup

Ok, Lets dream here. You were just hired to launch and program a new country radio station in your area. What would you call it? who would be on your roster of DJ's? and how many current would you play an hour? in fact what kind of artist would you play?

For me I would brand my station as 99.5 The Wolf - your station for "Non-Stop Fresh Country". I would play more newer country. Maybe 8-9 currents an hour (songs released within the last year or two), and play a few classics like Shania, Alabama, Garth Brooks and a few others. I would present the station in a CHR/Top 40 style, but add the country twang to it. I would love to bring back personality radio, where there is a ton of DJ-Listener interaction, fun contests/promotions and basically create morning shows all day long. Kind of like the "Young Country" stations back in the 90's.

my on-air lineup would be as follows

12A-5A - Dave Fuller
5A-10A - Ken & Corey - Ken Anderson, Corey Foley and Steve Grunwald or Eddie King
10A-3P - Nikki Landry
3P-7P - Edwards & Lee - Chuck Edwards & Linda Lee
7P-12A - Nite Wolf - Jeremy Robinson or Joe Boxer (someone young)

So what would your country station look and sound like?

Tommy Faile is deceased but he certainly had a nice style. He did the K-97 country gold show back in the 80s.

I would definitely have the guy doing the station IDs on WIST High Point, NC, although I don't know what he's like other than for IDs. They only have a morning DJ but he's good too.

Keith Todd from WFMX.

Bill Dollar, who is deceased.

Nothing from after 1990 except the occasional Alan Jackson, Tracy Byrd or George Strait. In other words, pretty much what WIST is doing now.
