It's amazing but it may not be over yet. If Howie and his legal eagles can appeal it--can the judge
really force Howie to ACCEPT that counter-offer?--there still could be a chance he could wiggle
out of this. Or is the law so iron-clad that he actually MUST accept Entercom's counter offer?
Were his lawyers inept in not telling him to clam up about the offer? He could have kept quiet, let the
contract expire, then--oh look! Greater gave me an offer, so I'm going there. See ya on the FM side!
And yeah it could be that Imus would win this battle (back on TKK in what would have been Howie's
slot...had been Graham's temporary slot; before that, Barnicle's temp slot, and Imus before that)
You're right, those group photos of the WTKK team could become collector's items if he never
winds up on Morrissey Blvd!
>>Cannot imagine that Greater Media is going to hang on until Carr becomes available in 2012 !
Will it still be a talk station by then? Probably yes but Howie would have really helped TKK's ratings.
Still this whole thing about being forced to accept an offer...being forced to work for an employer
you don't wish to work for...
Howie could say something nasty and get fired but he'd have to be careful--if he swears and it gets
through, etc., HE could be liable as well as Entercom (heard something about that in re: to FCC
indecency laws). Or he could trash The Empress and Hokey Wolfe but they may just smile, sit
back in their chairs, and look at the high ratings numbers... "who cares what he's saying about us?
We got him back".
Or do they.
