Court TV Launching On SiriusXM On May 15

E.W. Scripps inc has announced that CourtTV will have a radio broadcast on SiriusXM.

Court TV, rebooted last May and available on cable, over the air and over the top, expands to another new platform on May 15 when it will be launched by SiriusXM.

Court TV’s live gavel-to-gavel coverage and analysis of the nation’s most important and compelling trials will be available on ch. 793 through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices and online at www.siriusxm.com/player [siriusxm.com]. Court TV anchors will also make guest appearances on various SiriusXM news and entertainment shows.

Not quite. Channel 794 and others in its range are only available through streaming devices and online. They are not broadcast over the satellites and, thus, are unavailable to users of any of SiriusXM's various radio units, current or legacy. Such users can only access them by paying $5 extra per month for internet access. I assume Scripps is aware of this and the money involved in the deal reflects the relative obscurity in which its channel will exist.
