Having Courtney voicetracking middays on SNE from Miami is one of the few instances where it made sense. She's a great jock and connected well with the audience when she was in town. People know and like her.
It was a cost cutting move, pure and simple. Dollars to donuts that her replacement isn't seeing an additional dime for this. Very sad.
Agree on Courtney but I still wouldn't go so far as to say it made sense. It made sense if the shift absolutely has to be tracked but that's it. As far as Kristin, she has to be paid something more for doing this and I assume she'll be tracked also. Or is being allowed to continue to work there compensation enough?
In a market were on air positions seem to be at a premium, it does seem to be quite a good compensation, additionally, with CC's history, maybe she thinks she has less to fear now.
It's November. It's Clear Channel. It's the yearly ritual. If Courtney Young is the only casualty it's not as bad as other years or even other markets this year for Clear Channel. Citadel Providence is saving money with that night show no one has been hired for. Citadel Fairhaven has done their share of trimming.
