COWBOYS/KRLD-FM

The 2010 schedule should be released tomorrow or Friday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Saints will play at Dallas on Thanksgiving, as I've always wanted to see the Saints play on Thanksgiving Day. It probably won't happen, because from a ratings standpoint, the NFL would benefit more if this were a Sunday Night Game.

I've heard rumors that Dallas will play Chicago on Thanksgiving, but again, I'm holding out hope that the Saints will play the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. We should know something at least by Friday.

And remember, if you don't wanna listen to Brad and the other guy, you can pick up Saints Radio on KWKH 1130AM or KRVF 106.9 on the southeast side of the metroplex.

Weather on the 3's, Traffic on the 8's...

If you want the alternative, there it is. That's all I'm saying.

Who Dat?
Two Dat!

The NFL schedule is going to be released Tuesday the 20th. My money is on the Redskins playing the Boys on Thanksgiving, but I agree with Surge. It would be great to see the Saints play the Cowboys on Turkey day... just so it could ruin his meal!

I also agree with TexasGopher, Brad & Babe are the kings of these parts..

How about KDBN (The Bone)?

I started to mention them, but I thought it might derail the discussion of "flagship" stations as opposed to simulcasts. Since you brought it up, though, here's a footnote about Cowboys game broadcasts: in 1978 and 1979, while KRLD was the official "flagship station" the Cowboys were also heard on KTXQ/Q102. Technically it wasn't a direct simulcast; the KRLD feed was provided to affiliates of the Mutual Southwest Radio Network. As a network affiliate Q102 wasn't specifically prohibited from carrying the games, the only network "programming" they aired (although they had to air a good amount of network commercials). KRLD wasn't happy with the situation, of course, and after some legal wrangling they were able to regain their market exclusivity. (Anybody want to jump in and tell us who did the Q102 Cowboys pregame show?)

I wouldn't be surprised if it got pushed back again. It was originally supposed to be announced on April 13th, and then at the end of this week, now the 20th. I heard Brett Favre is in charge of scheduling this year...

And yes, Pushr, that would ruin my Thanksgiving dinner if the Saints lost. It ruined my Christmas when the Saints lost to the 'Boys last year.

And Pushr, I've been thinking about it and you guys beat us fair and square. I am sure Dallas had guys that were injured too (except DeMarcus Ware, who didn't practice all week but played the game of his life). And although the Cowboys had more to play for, the Saints still had a lot to play for, too.

It's my belief that if the Saints met the 'Boys in Week 5, the Saints would have won. If the Cowboys wouldn't have lost to the Vikings and would have played the Saints in the NFC Championship Game, it's my belief the Saints would have won that game, too. But I guess we will never know...

And in radio news, the Austin affiliate of the Cowboys Radio Network will change from KVET-AM to 104.9 the Horn. So if you travel to Austin next season, the Cowboys will be on FM.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, SURGE!! Looks like Turkey Day is gonna be great with that marquee match up!

And to you as well, Pushr. I couldn't have been happier yesterday when I saw that. I have been waiting a long time to see my Saints play on Thanksgiving, and to play the Cowboys, not the Lions.

I was thinking about going to JerryWorld, but I think I would rather watch it at home, the way I always spend my Thanksgivings, watching the Cowboys and eating turkey, but this time it will mean a lot more to me.

Good luck to Romo and the 'Boys, in the 15 other games they are not playing Saints, of course!
