Cowboys move from WOAI to JACK FM

What I'm curious about is which BMP station will get the weekly on-air conversations with Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett airing in-season during AM drive that go with the affiliation deal.

Will those go to Trey Ware on KTSA or will BMP start a local show on KZDC?

I would say they would go to KZDC, it wouldn't make since to place it on KTSA, other than having a stronger signal.
Except that they're live, they happen in AM drive and KZDC doesn't have a local morning show during AM drive. I'm not sure the team will be willing to do them in PM drive.

Let me understand: the Cowboys have a "live" segment that has to air on affiliates in AM drive once per week during the season. If there's no call in element, and you haven't seen the actual terms of the contract, couldn't it possibly be delayed into a hard break in Mike and Mike? Or dumped into a stop set on JACK FM? Or re-packaged for a set time and run across all of their POS stations?

Boy, they must have some whiz bang technology (or lack thereof) if you think they can't make this segment work on one of their stations, or more than one.

Of course, it is Border, so anything is possible from a screw-up and contractual non-compliance standpoint.

Back to the original thought: moving the Cowboys back to Border from the blowtorch seems like a bad move, unless Border is overpaying for these rights, which is very possible.

JACK FM. When the music stops, we play footballl. Seriously? And will they air the entire 4 hour postgame show, too? Its like watching a car crash in slow motion.

As I mentioned earlier AC formatted KVIL in Dallas did well with the Cowboys for years. And country KVET does it every year with Longhorn football. It's only one day a week, usually not at a big time for their format anyway. It gives them something to sell, promote and draw new listeners to their station.

It's a pair of live phoners airing in the 7 AM hour during the season on different days of the week. One is with the head coach. the other is with Jerry Jones. The reason I know they're live is because there is occasionally some doubt expressed on-air whether the interview subject will call in or not in the segment before they air. And indeed, sometimes they don't call in or they put it on the air 15 minutes later than scheduled.

A phoner doesn't really seem like a fit for an announcerless music station. The Mike and Mike stopset makes some sense, but the uncertaintly probably makes it awkward to insert it live. This feature appears to be part of the promotion package for the games.

Jerry hasn't done the call in for a couple of years. 1250 already announced they'll run the coach in their afternoon show- and although I do not know for certain, based on Garret's history, probably taped in the early morning. Good for Jack FM - those games will help it against KZEP and KISS.
