Cowboys Radio Schedule

Good grief a 3 hour pregame and a 3hr post game show? How ad nauseum can you get? I know its all about revenue, but it doesn't make it good radio. A pregame should be 30 min and post game 30 min.. What could you possibly talk about ?"scenarios" "endless highlight audio, you heard the first time",'ads, ads, more ads, and ads after that. Discussions with Jerry "wheres the camera, andismy mic okay" Jones taking credit for the coaching decisons on the field. mumble mouth players describing the game" When it was it _ and we had _ ,we- and ran down the field after_ threw the ball to score". "Coach_ said that_ needed to_ and he did"'I am not thinking about _thats a couple of weeks away,we play_ next and thats what we need to concentrate on" 'You'll have to ask_ or coach that." "it's too early to tell that we will be in the superbowl, but I am confident by the way the team played ,we will"

I believe when the ticket had the Cowboys they were required to do a huge amount of pre and post...as in it was in the contract. Probably much of the same with the fan. Somebody who might know those requirements feel free to provide the answer.

You are correct. As Deep Throat once told Woodward "Follow the money!" It ALL goes to Jerry...all 9 hours on gameday!

the flagship station of a football team usually is the one who is stuck with the enormous gameday coverage. the Network stations usually only get a 30-60 minute pregame show and 30-45 minute or so postgame show. the colts flagships here in indy have 2 hours pre network pregame show, 1 hour network pregame show and the network post show is 90 minutes and then an additional 90 minutes on the flagships. i believe the bengals flagships have 2 and half pre network pregame show, 90 minute network pregame, 45 minute network postgame then 3:15 hour local postgame on their flagships. back when the bears were on wgn i remember they had like 3 hour pregame show before the network hour pregame. then if i recall had 60 minute network post show, and 3 more hours locallly. all lot of football flagship stations dedicate 8+hours on game day sundays

Wow, I can't wait to hear what "Scott from Waxahachie" or "Bob from Lewisville" have to add to that 3 hour pre-game!!

At least the games aren't on KLUV or KVIL this time. Nothing like flipping over to either station after the game and wondering when the @#$% music is EVER going to come back on. One hour...two hours...three hours...no Beatles, just Dumba$$ from Dumas with a question about Romo's shoelaces. Love the Cowboys, but pa-leeeeeeze.

(Reminds me of the same type of punch in/punch out I do with KEOM, trying to dodge the Mesquite High School Junior Varsity Girls' live Table Tennis Tournaments. ;D ) (sorry, Chris!)

My point exactly. The same old 35+ countrytwangy/urban talking callers with the same questions about the same players, with the same answer modified each the week Armchair quarterback talk is about nauseous as an Oprah show weekend marathon. It's a game ,not the center of life.Stats ,coaches interviews, player interviews, are enough. Goober from Gainesville, Cletus from Cleburne, Otis from OakCliff, are not compelling radio to tune in. You got to be the world's biggest sucker to advertise on a lengthy post game show and an extra long pregame.

I cant fault Jerry for believing in his product, but jeez give me a break with the Cowgirls over exaggerated pre and post game shows. ::)

Never been a Cowhags fan anyways.

Thank God for ESPN, where you can actually see and hear coverage of PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL TEAMS.

One must first consider the source. It's DallasCowboys.com! The very same website that also says "Cadena de Plata", the Cowboys Spanish Language Radio Broadcasts will still be carried on KFZO 99.1 FM & KFLC 1270 AM. Ahem...I believe Spanish will now be on the CBS MEGA 107.5-FM. Wow, talk about being asleep at one's own switch!!! Is anyone awake at DallasCowboys.com?!?!?!?

That's what a lot of NFL markets have to deal with. The Cowboys have more coverage than several other teams. The Giants only have a 90 minute pregame, but that's because WFAN carries them, and they could talk about it for 24 hours before and after the game.

Jacksonville has a 1 hour network pregame, after a 2 hour flagship pregame, then the game, followed by a couple more hours of postgame coverage on the flagship (after a 45 minute postgame on the network).

I didn't mean to quote the whole passage, still learning. I'm glad it is longer than 30 minutes as it takes me longer than that to get out of the parking lot sometimes.

My favorite part of the article:

*The pre-game show will be hosted by Jagger and will include Sean Salisbury and Super Bowl XXX MVP Larry Brown.

Jagger doing a pre-game show r u serious??? Can the fan not find anyone who has at least some credible sports background?

What do you consider "credible sports background"? I think Jagger can do the pre-game show pretty well. He knows sports including Cowboys past and present (although he knows more about the steelers).
