Cowgirls Don't Cry

Wondering if your local country stations are playing the B&D/Reba version of this song. 93Q in Houston plays this version. I just find the switch to Reba after the verse of the father dying a little strange. The key change really throws me off. I've heard the all B&D version at a country dancehall but never heard an all Reba version. Does it exist?

I've also not heard an all-Reba version. My station is no longer playing this song in any form, but we were playing the B&D + Reba version.

I like the way the random Reba inclusion sounds, but I'm not sure it makes any sense from a lyrical standpoint.

I think the version including Reba sounds fine, but once you listen to the lyrics, it doesn't make sense. Why would you have a female voice sing the father's dying words?

I haven't heard an all-Reba version, either.

Supposedly the Brooks and Dunn/Reba version came about after CMA awards where she did the song with them and it gave rave reviews

But Reba changes keys and the fact that their is a long pause between Ronnie Dunn and her singing throws me off about the song.

But basically, the local mom and pops still run the original, almost everyone else went with the new version by the time it hit the top 10

The song is from B&D's Cowboy Town. Reba was added later. Reba and Ronnie Dunn's youngest daughter were the inspiration for the song. Probably why Reba got added.
