Cowhead to the Bone

If this is true. Great move.

There are No morning shows in this market on testicular radio for guys to listen too.
NONE!

COWHEAD. Good Luck. Entertain without getting kicked off. That's not easy nowadays.

The Rock of North Jersey

I saw it on All Access as well. Here's what they said:

Former CLEAR CHANNEL Rocker WXTB (98 ROCK)/TAMPA morning man COWHEAD has been named the new morning man at crosstown COX Classic Rocker WHPT (102.5 THE BONE), effective early JULY. A co-host and actual start date have yet to be determined.

First, let me say I'm thrilled Cowhead will be back on the air here (and not on satellite).

However, am I the only one absolutely ??? (bumfuzzled/astonished/confused) by Cowhead going to COX after the allegations that a Cox account executive was behind the tape that led to his dismissal at Clear Channel (http://www.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,32970.0.html)?

Why would Cow let on a***ho** account exec stand in the way of gainful employment? If that AE is still at Cox, she will be working with him to undermine the competition...

I agree, business, particularly radio, makes strange bedfellows and your enemy one day could be your "best friend" tomorrow, and, like you say, a job's a job, but I don't know, if in the same situation, I could work for a company that went out of their way to get me fired from another gig. But that could be just me...

I will say this... if I was that a**ho** a-e, I'd certainly be watching my back at all times.

Hey...I have heard these rumors as well...and at this time I cannot confirm anything..HOWEVER, I can tell you that the sales chick in question has been there for a long time and busts her ass....so if i were to get this gig ...I bet we would high five and move on!!

Cowhead,

I compliment you on your professionalism... you're a better man than me, since I'm into the whole "forgive but don't forget" thing, and the first chance I'd get, I'd try to get my revenge.... and IF these rumors turn out to be true, let me wish you nothing but good luck and I hope the powers that be let you keep this gig a little longer!

After 10 years of stumbling around the bottom of the ratings, it sure would be nice to see 102.5 have a talent on board like Cowhead to give the station a boost. The potenially combined powers of classic & 90's rock leaning 102.5 The Bone, classic hits of the 70's & 80's 107.3 The Eagle, and alternative/new rock leaning 97-X should provide a nice sales pitch. Now... if they'd only lose that damn Point, move "X" to 101.5 and format 97.1 Urban A/C; Cox could be a real player in this market. I'll be waiting....

I've been listening to the bone a lot the last few days. It's got some good music and dj's. With a good morning show that includes some music I could totally get into it.

The Bone is advertising Cowhead's arrival and says he is coming "soon". But what are we talking here. If there was a 6 month non-compete clause it could take another three or four months?

I don't think there was since they fired him so soon after he started. I think Cowhead might have said somewhere that there wasn't one.

Congrats to Cowhead.I hope you can change the format a little and try to play something else other than the same 25 songs. One thing that annoys me is the same format on every station.

Did anyone else see Cowhead at the Rays game on Saturday night? He hosted the bike run-through before the game. Guess he's trying to get as much promotion as possible before the 10th.
