Cowiche Mtn FM scan, 3/14/15

Very cool scan. More stations than channels (counting the multiples). How high up was that?

Depends. At times I was at 1850 feet, other times it was 2150. I took the "Bench Loop Trail" which was a 1.5 mi loop just below the summit, which is 2964 ft.
I do plan on getting a Tecsun PL-380 before sporadic-E season begins. With 4 open channels gone, I need those first adjacents, especially on low FM where I just lost my best edu-fm frequency, 88.9, to a stupid translator. A DSP radio (my G8 is in a landfill somewhere now, RIP) would allow me to DX 88.3, 88.7, 89.3, 89.7, 90.9, 91.3 and 91.7. The latter five have NO Es logs from here! 88.7 used to be good and now it's trash due to K205FT 200khz up. 88.3 is variable during Es on my G5, but I have caught KESD SD, KNAI AZ, and KSDS CA before.
Compare this scan from last year's: http://www.radiodiscussions.com/showthread.php?661922-FM-scan-from-Cowiche-Mountain-WA-4-27-14
That scan was with my OLD G5 unit. The one that lasted from 2007-2014.

Sounds like you did better than last year. First thing I noticed when I looked at last year's scan was no Canadians and fewer Oregons (IIRC). I'm starting to get more comfortable with the ATS-505 that my daughter and middle son gave me for Christmas. As I've said before, it seems to be a good, but not great, portable. My late, great, DX-375 was better on AM, but the 505 is performing better on FM than any radio I've had for quite a while. It may get me more active into FMDX yet! :)
