Cox Bham radio properties

The article fails to mention that while Dubose is doing well with the urban properties, Nelson is not doing as well with the former Legendary WZZK.

Unless Hot 107.7 has really tanked, isn't 'New Country' the lowest rated FM?

You can't really blame Nelson too much on the state of WZZK. Now if it continues to falter and fail you can. The real blame goes back to Dubose when he managed the entire market.

5 years ago Patti and Bill were "retired" by cox. 5 years. The show that replaced them was boring but lasted far too long. Nelson is the one that was in charge of the revamping and rebuilding, something that had to be done. However, the changes were not creative, just new voices but no real personalities. Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. They did a great job promoting the changes and the resulting bump in the ratings showed that people WANT to listen to WZZK. But since the changes were just new voices the station didn't live up to the hype and in the end the new voices are just unfamiliar. Cat West sounded like a real person, not a jock. Brother John, incredible pipes. WZZK is not doing well. In order for WZZK to rise from the dead they are going to have to hire a morning show, Rick & Bubba are negotiating. Mark & Mack are nowhere to be found, even Burt and Kurt would at least have name recognition.
