I was on the phone with one of my radio friends when they started laughing. Apparently the news aired a story about a woman stealing money from Cox radio, then fleeing the city. Anyone have any more info about this? In the story they say the woman got a credit card in the stations name, made purchases, and even paid the payment with stolen Cox radio money. Once she thought she was caught she fled. How does something like this happen? What do you think the right P.R. move Cox should make to make things smoooth over with the media to avoid any bad publicity?

Why should Cox have to smooth anything over with the media? She's the thief! Naomi was the office manager since 1999. She worked directly for Caroline Devine until Caroline left to go to Houston as Cox RVP. Naomi opened the card in Caroline's name and began to charge stuff. She also was skimming petty cash and other money that came in for charities. She would count it in a one for Cox one for me accounting system. Anyone can steal anything from a company and have it go undetected for a while...but it always comes out!!!!

that's crazy...what sucks is that she walked out on her family and kids and there were flyers all around san antonio and people searching for her and worried that the worst had happend and the whole time she fled on her own.

Yeah I heard about this too. I think any cluster should be more careful. There will always be those employees who think that if if radio station owns it, they are free to take it. I wonder how much the major radio brodcasting companies lose each year from people who steal. If I was an OM and had money stolen from me I would be pist. That is money I could have used on a promotion or gas for the station vans.

I could be wrong but there is a lot more going on in the normal station budget than promotions and gas. Yeah my post was kind of sarcastic in case you didnt pick up on it.

**BREAKING NEWS**Naomi Fuentes Arrested Following Months On Run

POSTED: 3:36 pm CDT July 26, 2006
UPDATED: 4:15 pm CDT July 26, 2006

SAN ANTONIO -- Naomi Fuentes, a University of Texas at San Antonio student, who had been on the run for several months, was arrested in Buffalo, N.Y., authorities said.

A pair of arrest warrants was issued earlier this month for the mother of two, who supposedly disappeared several months ago but turned up alive and well in Niagra Falls.

According to an affadavit, Fuentes was wanted on charges of credit card abuse and misapplication of fiduciary property.

Fuentes obtained a credit card in her employer's name and then used company checks to make monthly payments, an affadavit stated.

I've been wondering why in the world the Windcrest Police held a presser to announce they had a warrant for Naomi Fuentes. I guess it ultimately didn't matter, since she continued to go about her business in Niagara Falls, but at the time, it seemed like all it would do was give her a heads-up that it was time to go into hiding. ::)
