I heard that Christy Henry was amongst a bunch of firings at Cox today. Anyone heard anything else?

Christy's bio is still on the B98.5 website.

There may be something behind this week's "extended" shift of Kelly McCoy. But these are only rumors until confirmed (and 90% of these rumors end up wrong in the end).

OK...MAYBE IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO JUST TAKE A SEAT!
After Senator McCain responded to a young questioner, who wondered if the Senator was "TOO OLD "to be President by calling him, "little jerk," we wondered if it was about time for the Senator to just take a seat.
Granted, despite his age, the Senator is a true American hero. A prisoner of war, a war hero, a public servant...he has earned all the respect in the world. But...after some things he's said and given his poor showing this far along in the Presidential race, maybe it's time the good Senator from Arizona just bowed out and kicked back at home.
It's no disgrace. There are SEVERAL people who should do the same thing. We made a list and our callers added to it. Who should just take the hint and take a SEAT? Here is a partial list we compiled, inside and outside of politics.
*Senator Fred Thompson (He just stood up!) *Jerry Lewis
*Regis Philbin
*Democratic Candidate Dennis Kucinich
*Joan Rivers
*Larry King
*Madonna
*Al Gore
*Jimmy Carter
*Hugh Hefner
*Billy Graham
Kelly suggested that he would like to see Reverend Graham go to be with his WIFE!
(So, now we know...Kelly would like to EUTHANIZE the Good Reverend...that's nice!
Can we get Dr. Kevorkian on the phone?)

Did Kelly Stevens really wish for Billy Graham to die on-air? And Alpha was smart enough to post this online?

Sounds like to me B98.5 fired their morning show.

Make the Rev Graham listen to B98.5 and Kelly/Alpha.....that will kill anyone.
What a twit to say something like that about Billy Graham.
Hope BoyBob hits them with a Teddy Bear..........

Being the morning team on B98.5 has got to be far from easy. You have to do a personality show within the considerable constraints of the music-intensive format clock. I can't imagine anyone else being able to do that as well as Kelly & Alpha. An acquaintance of mine knows Kelly and says that Kelly isn't thrilled about the constraints but is sure happy to have a job.

Doing mornings in any format/enviroment must be very difficult. I'm sure it is impossible to "never" say anything offensive to someone. But it is sad when we have so called "personalities" which think it is "mainstream" to wish someone like Billy Graham dead. My guess is that many people are sickened by this remark and it reflects, at best, immaturity, and at worst a twisted, morally bankrupt individual.

Kelly and Alpha are still there. The show notes page was updated this morning, and it looks like everything is OK.

Lesson for today...rumors are bad things. Don't spread them unless they can be confirmed.

Tom, are you saying he wished Reverend Graham dead on the air? I have a hard time believing he said that. In the blog quote above, he (and his listeners) is suggesting Reverend Graham (and others) retire.

Roddy-
Ruth Graham is hardly what you would call "retired." She is dead. The website had the blog as quoted by jal41 above.
To say he wished Graham "would go and be with his wife" is the same as wishing him dead.
I have reread the blog. They are speaking of OTHER people who should retire.......but the intent of this particular part is crystal clear. How else could one interpret the comment?
I'm tired of people wishing other people dead! Call them a dwarf donkey lovin' mother-kissin' pig dog but don't wish em dead. There are too many whackos waiting for that little voice in their head(or radio) to tell em to "do"it.

No it isn't...it shows up if you Google "Christy Henry," but it's not on the personalities section of B98's website.

Shame, too. I thought Christy had a great voice.

It was there yesterday...but gone today. Anyone know the reason why she was fired.

The original poster mentioned there were several people let go. Anyone also know if anyone else (on-air or off-air) was fired (at any of the stations in the Cox cluster)?
