Cox Media Group Stations Renew CBS Affiliations

https://www.rbr.com/cox-media-group-stations-renew-cbs-affiliations/

DAYTON, OHIO — One of the nation’s biggest CBS affiliations can be found here in the Gem City, at Cox Media Group‘s long-dominant WHIO-7.

There will be no fear of any affiliation swap with Nexstar or Sinclair Broadcast Group for the foreseeable future.

Cox and ViacomCBS on Wednesday inked a multi-year deal that renews CBS Television Network affiliation agreements for not on WHIO, but also KIRO-7 in Seattle; KYMA-13 in Yuma, Ariz.-El Centro, Calif.; and KVIQ-6 in Eureka-Arcata, CA.

Also included in the agreement is Hoffman Communications’ WJAX-47 in Jacksonville, which maintains a shared services agreement with CMG.

KYMA, KVIQ, WHIO,WJAX and KIRO are the Cox Owned stationa to renew affiliations with CBS.

KIRO Seattle and WSB Atlanta are the the largest Cox affiliates. I believe they are competitive in the market so this makes sense.
